The following subsection refer to the agreed protocols for the production of design information,
naming and numbering conventions, discipline codes, metadata, tolerances and drawings sheet
templates. All convention and protocols are proposed by G06 team, subject to discussion and
agreement with the rest of Consultants.
D.1 - PIM Origin and Orientation
The Project Information Model Origin and Orientation is relevant for all discipline models in
coordination with the federated model. It must be proposed and agreed by G06, adjusted to the
project requirements and allowing a clear and effective coordination between models.
All main consultants are to follow the orientation given by Civil or Architect, regarding orientation
and insertion points.

MAPUPR01-ZIGG06-ZZ-XX-MS-Z-0004 A.4 - Employer Information Requirements (EIR) The key elements for the BIM execution are as follows (from very to less important): ● The open BIM standard for Building Information models will be IFC 4 and the delivery of the Operations & Maintenance phase model will be COBie. ● A development level of 400 will be reached in the general set of elements of the ● The construction model will be Integrated Project Delivery IPD and with a Lean construction management approach. ● The exterior shape of the building will follow the criteria of the original design approved. ● Interior spaces in the building without pillars. ● Achieve A+ energetic qualification. ● Deliver a template for operations and maintenance. ● Obtain Leed Platinum Certification in Energy Design for the building. ● Estimate index 2E in the design phases. ● Decrease construction time. ● Being energetically self-sufficient. ● Reduce the waste created (MUDA). ● Estimate the cost of building the asset automatically. ● Review the design changes with BIM methodology. A.5 - Audience This document is for circulation within the design team, and external consultants as indicated on the project organisational workflow section B.7. MAPUPR01-ZIGG06-ZZ-XX-MS-Z-0004 SECTION B: Management B.1 - Introduction This section refers to the multiple level of BIM and Design Management and intends to clarify notions and guidance protocols for the Project Structure, Management and Design Teams and Design Management Protocols. It describes how people have to work together, the standardised process and procedures they have to follow, the information that is expected to be part of the digital deliverables and the way technology is to be employed and managed to achieve the project’s digital requirements. Our BIM Manager will be responsible for our Digital work plan and drive its execution to ensure it is fit for purpose. The project will follow the following BIM Standards: ● PAS 1192-2:2013, PAS 1192-3:2014, PAS 1192-4:2014, ● BS 1192-1:2007, ● CIC BIM Protocol 2013, ● BIM Forum Level of Development (LOD) 2013, ● NBS BIM Toolkit April 2015, ● ARC (UK) BIM Protocol. Information Delivery Cycle is defined in the PAS 1192-2:2013 and adjusted for BIM Level 2. Agreed Protocols & Standards for the Level 2 BIM Process defined in the PAS 1192:2-2013 6

MAPUPR01-ZIGG06-ZZ-XX-MS-Z-0004 B.2 - BEP Objectives BEP’s principle objective is to establish the management protocols for responsibility, timely delivery, exchange and final handover of the project deliverables to the Client as per Employers Information. The BIM Execution Plan (BEP) describes how G6 will meet the Olympic Committee objectives set-out in the Employers Information Requirement and CAD/BIM/GIS Manuals. The BEP is drafted at the responsibility of ACCIONA (project contractor) with the BIM Management Plan, to be submitted, discussed and agreed (in a final revision) with the project Lead Design Consultant and all other major Design Consultants, with the full adherence of all design contributors to a single and transversal design information exchange protocol, approved and recognized by all project Stakeholders. 7

MAPUPR01-ZIGG06-ZZ-XX-MS-Z-0004 The BIM models will be used for design visualization, construction documentation, 3D coordination, and digital fabrication for the G06 Olympic Tower Maputo in Maputo, Mozambique. All staff involved in the BIM project will be required to read and understand the Project Execution Plan which will be distributed at the kickoff meeting and a copy of it will be in the project folder in Google Drive. B.3 - Project BIM Objectives The project will work to approach BIM Level 2. The objectives in the use of BIM for the project are: ● Working in a 3D Environment; using 3D Coordinated models. ● Creating structured non-graphical data; using COBie Databases. ● Data verification and validation by testing imported / exported data. ● Consistent data exchanges (sharing data). ● Eliminate design and documentation re-works due to uncoordinated drawings. ● Design team reviews and tracking of design quantities bases from the models. ● Project management tools to control data flow and production throughout the project lifecycle if necessary. ● Increase field productivity through design reviews / 3D Coordination meetings. ● Minimizing field conflicts through 3D Coordination meetings. This project goals should be specific to the project at hand, measurable, and strive to improve the successes of the planning, design, construction and operations of the project lifecycle. 8

In this case we will touch on aspect of BIM Level 2 as all disciplines will be working in a 3D format and sharing models through CDE for collaboration and coordination only. MAPUPR01-ZIGG06-ZZ-XX-MS-Z-0004 B.6 - Project Information Model Deliverable Strategy This project will use an Integrated Project Delivery approach (IPD) that integrates people, systems, business structures and practices into a process that collaboratively harnesses the talents and insights of all participants to optimize project results, increase value to the owner in this case the Olympic Committee, reduce waste and maximize efficiency through all phases of the design, fabrication and construction. BIM Level 2 protocols are sustained by the creation of a managed 3D environment with data attached, but created in separate, from distinct discipline models. These separate models may originate with the parties involved on the project (Olympic Committee, the Architect, the Structural Engineer, MEP Engineer, Main Contractor, Sub-contractor, Suppliers, etc.) a Federated Model (owned and managed by the Lead Consultant) is an assembly of these distinct models to create a single, complete model of the building. This will be developed through the Design and Construction stages, and used by the Developer through the Operation and Decommissioning stages. PAS 1192 describes the Project Information Model (PIM) as the “information model developed during the Design and Construction phases of a project”. The requirements for the Project Information Model are set out as part to the Employer’s Information Requirements (ER) and typically this consist of a Federated Model, non-graphical data and associated documentation. The PIM is delivered to the Main Contractor through a series of information exchanges (data drops) typically comprising product-proprietary files, Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) files and PDFs. These data exchanges take place at key points in the project development that coincide with the Employer’s decision-making processes as definer in the EIR’s and in the Agreed Design Programme. The main Contractor will collect all revision of the PIM and inform the Project Team the status of each individual consultant’s model through a verify of status levels: 1. Work in Progress. Information in early stages of development recorded, reviewed, commented an distributed (as required) to inform and coordinate other stakeholders tasks. 2. No Further Comments. Information was subject to the necessary coordination and no further comments are necessary from the Lead Consultant. 3. Archived. Information that was subject to a final acceptance by the General contractor and is used to record progress at each Project Milestone as well as all the transactions and change orders. 4. “A” is the highest level of Approval. Meaning that the Reviewer can find no problems. 5. “B” is the mid-level of approval. Meaning “Fit for construction or manufacture subject the notes supplies”. 6. “C” is the lowest level of Approval. Meaning “Not fit for construction or manufacture”. 12

These are not closed notions and must be agreed with all the relevant stakeholders and adjusted to the project needs at any given stage. C.1 - BIM Roles and Responsibilities and BIM Use Staffing It is the responsibility of all the collaborators in the project to have or obtain the trained personal, hardware and software needed to successfully use BIM on the project. They also shall be responsible for their BIM and data reliability of their work. Each Consultant will be responsible for their own models and any design information produced for the project delivery. It is the General Contractor responsibility for overall design coordination, irrespective of the BIM Process or digital tool used. Role Authority & Responsibility BIM Manager Responsible for the management of the BIM Implementation on the Project and owner of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP). The BIM Manager will append each designer’s model into a federated model in Navisworks for reviewing at coordination meetings / clash detection workshops at agreed intervals specified. Feedback will be provided on model status and the quality of information contained within each model where applicable. Creates a staffing plan for the execution of the plan (workflows). The BIM Coordinator for each design shall be responsible for the following tasks: ● Check that the model conforms to standards laid out in this document and are suitable for coordination with other design teams. ● Assume responsibility for correct classification and naming of components in a model; NBS Codes, Uniclass Codes, Identity Tags and any agreed parameters. ● Clear clashes that exist between entities by agreed Project Milestones. ● Ensure that all deliverables specified in the contract (including BIM’s) are provided in accordance to agreed formats. ● Assure proper BIM derived 2D information for paper printing is required and conforms to agreed project standards and client delivery requirements. ● Archiving the central model files every Friday at 9am in the CDE. ● Running the project health check/audit. ● Publishing audit report to modeling leads. ● Coordination composite model from all design disciplines to be assembled for BIM modeling leads to use at the weekly design review meeting. ● Content development that is needed for the project. MAPUPR01-ZIGG06-ZZ-XX-MS-Z-0004 D.3 - Quality Control A coordination model shall be used during the review process to allow for visual checks of the property design unit. It will be used to navigate through the design and communicate design improvements or adjustments. Every Monday at 9am there will be an email sent out as a reminder to the primary modelling lead to create a copy of the central files within a designated folder propr to the design review meeting. The team shall review the model during regular coordination meetings that are held on Tuesdays throughout the design phases until all spatial and system coordination issues have been resolved. Each design team lead shall be responsible for the internal quality checks and updating their models to reflect the coordination resolution every Friday at 9am. Each project team member should be responsible for performing quality control checks of their design, dataset and model properties before submitting their deliverables. The BIM Manager will be the one to confirm the quality of the model after the revision were made. Skype for online environment D.5 - Modeling Guidelines for Data Validation The following points describe the general Revit modeling guidelines to follow on the project. ● All Revit files that are sent to the Project BIM Manager need to be properly audited, purged and detached from the central file. ● All links that have been part of the consultant’s workflow need to be removed prior to sending it off to the Project BIM Manager. ● The older versions of Revit Families must be audited and updated to the version 2018 without having any issues or alerts on the software. ● All models uploaded to the Share Platform need to be detached, and no Central Models are to be posted. ● The drawing set will be a standard sheet size A3. ● Do not use CAD drawings within the Revit Families. ● Limit model lines to a minimum and if necessary use detail lines. ● Maximum size of the file must be below 200 MB. If the file is bigger, it will be splitted in different files. ● Do not use nested groups at any point of the model project. ● Create a minimum amount of Worksets on the project. ● Limit the Modeling-in-Place tool on Revit to avoid errors in the model file. ● No painted surfaces will be used on the model. All materials should be properly mapped in families and types. ● Curtain Walls Systems should only be used to represent Curtain Walls or Glazing Systems. ● Ensure the BSB guidelines provided by the Lead Designer have been followed. ● Ensure there are not overlaps or duplicate objects in the same model. 21

MAPUPR01-ZIGG06-ZZ-XX-MS-Z-0004 The level of detail should as a minimum represent the space allocation for the product’s access space for maintenance, installation and replacement space in addition to its operational space. For example, the space required to turn on or turn off valves. Definition At definition stage the object shall be based on a generic representation of the element. The specification properties and attributes from design allow selection of a manufacturer’s product, unless the product is nominated, free issue or already selected. Build and commission At build and commission stage any generic object shall be replaced with the object procured from the manufacturer. Any essential information to be retained shall be reattached or relinked to the replacement object. Inheritance of information is a complex issue and should be well understood and the solution tested at mobilization. The selection of the product should give further detail about flanges and connections so that final positioning of pipework and ductwork can be defined. Although minimum levels of graphical detail can be specified at each design stage, care should be taken that adequate detail is provided to convey design intent and installation requirements. See Design Framework for Building Services, Churcher, 2012. Handover and close-out At the handover and close-out stage all necessary information about the product shall be included in the handover document and attached to the commissioning and handover documentation. The as-constructed model shall represent the as-constructed project in content and dimensional accuracy. In addition is all the manufacturer’s maintenance and operation documentation, commissioning records, health and safety requirements, the final COBie information exchange, as-built models in native format and all relevant documentation. Operation and in-use At the operation stage, the performance of the project shall be verified against the EIR and the brief. If the specification is not met and changes are necessary then objects that have been changed or replaced with different equipment shall be updated accordingly. At the in-use stage, the object’s information shall be updated with any supplementary information such as maintenance records or replacement dates, and objects that have been changed or replaced with different equipment shall be updated accordingly. 24

Also must to include the capability of all main consultants to use effectively the adopted design tools. The primary design tool must account for the capability of it’s interface with all other CAD softwares and allow a single (direct) exchange method. All relevant information must be exchangeable between consultants and subcontractors.
