In the book Garp is a writer and throughout the whole book you see bits and pieces of
Garp s work. A long piece was called The World According To Bensenhaver which
was a very crazy story to say the least. There was kidnappings, knives, blood, rape, so
much happened in only a few pages. Garp was very proud of the book he wrote and
was excited for it to be published. Everyone around him thoughtotherwise but that
didn t stop Garp from wanting his work published.
The world according to Bensenhaver was a very interesting story. At first I did not
quite understand that it was a story Garp had written and he was going to have
soon after published. I also did not quite like the story personally. I liked a few bits
and pieces but nothing reached out to me to keep my attention. You can tell
whoever wrote this in this case Garp was very sad and mentally disturbed in a way.
Of course us knowing his backstory and all about the accident and how he had lost

Upon telling a story, many times personal situations get mixed in with what truly
happened in order to better portray an image and/or experience. As a result, whether
or not one is credible in their recollection of a story is often brought into question.
However, this is most certainly not the case in J.D Vance s HillbillyElegy due to the
many factors, which include the poorness of his immediate environment, family
history with violence, and factual evidence he puts into his writing. Throughout the
novel, virtually all of Vance s points can be compared to his early life in which he
was very poor. Early on in the book, J.D talks of how one his goals is simply
wanting people to understand what happens in the lives of the poor (Vance 2). It

My practical experience was done at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. I worked with
LTC Sheryl Bedno, who is the Chief of Preventive Medicine here at Ft. Bragg. My
role was as an observer on an ongoing study titled, Dietary Supplement use on Heat
Injuries among Military Personnel . The study was conducted by administering
surveys to soldiers that were being seen by medical staff at the Department of
Preventive Medicine.
The goals were to be able to understand what the possible effects of dietary
supplement use are on the body, especially during extreme heat, to find out why
soldiers decided on using supplements. To achieve these goals, I observed each
survey that was administered and took mental note of their responses (as I was
prohibited from writing in the participant s presence). I did additional research and a
literature review on methods of use, reasons for use, dangers of use and alternatives
to using. The intention of the study was to find a more effective way for physicians
to treat heat injuries.
The popular supplement ingredient, 1,3 dimethylamine (DMAA) was linked to
several fatalities and as a result was put on a medical hold in 2012 by the Food and
Drug Administration. The ingredient was later banned for use in any supplement. In
March of 2012, two Army soldiers died during a workout in which both had
reportedly taken supplements that had DMAA in it.1

the world s oceans lakes and estuaries, and the number and size of them is growing.
Many of these dead zones cover thousands of square miles where almost nothing lives
(National Science Foundation, n.d., Worldwide Dead Zones section, para. 1).
Nutrient pollution, also known as eutrophication occurs when nutrients, most
commonly nitrogen and phosphorus, from industrial, agricultural, residential, and
airborne sources enter the water in high concentrations. This process results in water
that is too rich in nutrients. This in turn causes a chain of events that can cause
widespread ecological damage to both aquatic ecosystems. In order to reduce nutrient
pollution to sustainable levels and prevent a manmade ecological disaster, mankind
must stem the flow of nutrients into our waterways by regulating the sources that
contribute to it.
To address the problem of eutrophication, the causes must first be understood. Most
causes of eutrophication are well known and documented. One of the largest source

My neighbor fifteen year old son/Dan died of head injuries in car accident. His
mom decided to donate his organs. His heart went to a fisherman; his kidneys went
