EMBEDDED SYSTEM BIO-MEDICAL
THE PATIENT-CENTRIC MOBILE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
ENHANCING SENSOR CONNECTIVITY AND DATA
INTEROPERABILITY
ABSTRACT:
The architecture for this system is based on smart devices and wireless sensor
networks for real time analysis of various parameters of patients. This system is aimed at
developing a set of modules which can facilitate the diagnosis for the doctors through tele
monitoring of patients. It also facilitates continuous investigation of the patient for
emergencies looked over by attendees and caregivers.
A set of medical and environmental sensors are used to monitor the health as well as
the surrounding of the patient. This sensor data is then relayed to the server using a smart
device or a base station in close proximity. The doctors and caregivers monitor the patient in
real time through the data received through the server. The medical history of each patient
including medications and medical reports are stored on cloud for easy access and processing
for logistics and prognosis of future complications. The architecture is so designed for
monitoring a unitary patient privately at home as well as multiple patients in hospitals and
public health care units.
The revolutionary improvements in low power devices and lightweight network
protocols are making the mobile healthcare engage attentions. However there are some
obstacles to realize mobile heaIthcare. Connectivity of miniaturized wearable sensors of the
body area network (BAN) to the Internet is one of the most important issues in realizing
mobile heaIthcare system. Interoperability is also important in order for sensor data not to be
isolated in a local system. In this project, we designed our mobile heaIthcare system resolving
connectivity and interoperability issues. In our mobile heaIthcare system, body sensors are
integrated by leveraging Restful web service via CoAP over IPv6, enabling web-based access
from browsers. Extended EPCglobal architecture was used for our system to enable sharing
of sensor data among applications with different domain through the standardized protocol.
We developed two applications, patient browser and Eagle Eye, to prove its feasibility.

 For village and hills people they want to travel long time to reach hospitals in case of
emergency condition they don’t know what they do so they can face lot of problem
DISADVANTAGE
 Large amount of money waste
 We want to go hospital for every health problem.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
 Use of smart phones to relay data over internet reduces the total cost of the system.
We have also considered the privacy and security aspects of the system keeping the
provision for selective authority for patients and their relatives to access the cloud
storage as well as the possible threats to the system. We have also introduced a novel
set of value added services.
 The sensor value will be monitored and display lcd and sending the value to mobile
phone using Bluetooth technology and update the sensor value to web server.
 when the patient falling means location will send to the user mobile and identify the
location.
