This document discusses footwear from a biomechanical perspective for runners and other active individuals. Research findings on foot strike patterns, effects of footwear on foot morphology, and insoles for knee osteoarthritis are also summarized. The goal is to increase awareness of footwear options and appropriate shoe features based on a patient's individual biomechanics and needs.
