Brunei is a small country located on the north coast of Borneo. It is ruled as a monarchy (an absolute monarchy) by the Sultan of Brunei. Some of the main attractions in Brunei include the Istana Nurul Iman palace, which is currently the largest residential palace in the world, Kampong Ayer, known as the "Venice of the East" as it is built on stilts over the water, and Ulu Temburong National Park for nature and wildlife. Brunei's culture incorporates Malay and Islamic influences and traditions include various forms of music, dance, costumes and games.
