How many times have we been promised true cross-platform development? Mobile web sites offer a great way to engage with consumers and corporate workers alike without requiring the installation of any app, and can in turn be adapted as deployable "hybrid" apps. This session explores the fundamentals of native vs. web apps, and how to choose the right approach for any given scenario. We begin with an exploration of the benefits of web development for smartphones using the most popular HTML5 & JavaScript framework for mobile: jQuery Mobile (JQM).
