Health and Hygiene Working to create better living conditions! Starting up W.A.S.H.E. Programs in the communities. W – Water A – Agriculture S – Sanitation H – Health & Hygiene E - Environment
Economizing the Families Economies Growing a surplus, so people can not only feed their families but make a profit off of the surplus. In some countries (Guinea Bissau, Angola, Mozambique) the special “from Communal to Commercial Farmer”, “Farmers Clubs” and “Seed banks” programs
Preventative Health &  Early Childhood Development in  co-operation with UNICEF
Pre Schools: 4 – 7 Children’s Towns: 8 – 20 Vocational Training Schools: 20 – 30  Teacher Training Colleges One World University/Primary school teachers Education
The Children's Towns 50% of kids with no home – a boarding school 50% kids with parents and a home – a day school 5000 kids in total A drama/dance troupe from  Children's Town
Activities at the Children’s Town: Boarding Life: Creating and holding weekend programs for the internal student Creating organized morning, afternoon and evening programs Creating and enforcing a cleaning schedule for the students Ensuring we have healthy students  Education: Creating Classes  Community Education Partnership: Find funds for Boarding life Keeping current sponsors Finding funding for new projects Personal Growth: Developing Yourself Enjoying Yourself
At a Children's Town you are mother /father/ brother /sister/ friend to the kids.  – this is no 9am – 5pm job!
Educating women for the future The aim – to teach skills to encourage the women to take responsibility for their lives and lead a fulfilling life

HOPE Our Program for AIDS Aid ONE WORLD ONE HOPE (started in 1995)
Why? Because more than 13 million children have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS
Activities within HOPE General Information and awareness in the community Free testing and counselling Orphans & Vulnerable Children Programs Outreach Programs Income Generating Activities
Total Control of the Epidemic
Activities within TCE Condom demonstrations Door to Door education Talk Shows Public Events Public Campaigns e.g. Get Tested! Distribution of condoms Soy Restaurants Positive Living clubs Orphanages School outreach clubs Educational campaigns – e.g. mother to child transmission awareness.
Total Control of the epidemic receives the AGFUND award of 150 000 USD at UN Headquarters in Geneva 2000 And the ”Shaping the  Future Award 2002”  at the EU Parliament
In 2006 Humana People to People received the first OPEC Fund Award for Development  in recognition of the vital and valuable work it is engaged in across southern Africa.  In 2003  Stars of Africa Award US Company, Johnson & Johnson won the “Stars of Africa award” for its support and engagement into Total Control of the Epidemic program in Bramfischerville, implemented by Humana People to People.

The Campus Once a Forest Service office, now houses up to 4 5  students
How does one prepare for the development work!?
With a training that teaches how to: be a team player  be a problem solver be hard working never give up know how to organise people make plans and follow them through go for goals and keep your bugets be ready for changes,  changes, changes,  be healthy and fit – mentally and physically
Also: Knowledge about Languages:  Spanish, Portuguese, or English Knowledge about the project: Child Aid, Streetchildren, Environment,  HOPE, TCE Knowledge about: Development Aid, Humana, UNICEF  Millenium Development Goals, etc.. Africa, Central America, Asia past and present and future General knowledge about the world today, healthcare, tropical diseases, prevention, nutrition, etc.
The Program Studies Courses Experiences Action weeks Fundraising Hiking DRH events Highlights
Studies Students are required to complete a number of tasks that cover a wide variety of subjects. E.g. Africa History, Tropical Diseases, Children’s games, Water cleaning systems, Solar ovens, Firewood saving stoves, Nutrition, Rope wells, HIV/AIDS Education and more
Courses   Activities that all teams do together. They are compulsory and include: sports, language lessons, presentations, team meetings, evening programs, and morning assemblies
Experiences are activities involving leading, organizing, planning, and evaluating. E.G. Organizing building weekends, leading events such as the “Science and Adventure Conference, Theatre in a Week and Concert in the Park”, fundraising, teaching in the community and much more. Experiences
