This document discusses smart cities and the NovaGenesis project. It begins with an overview of technologies like the Internet of Things, cognitive radio, and FI-WARE. It then introduces the key concepts of the NovaGenesis model, including self-certifying naming where entities are named with a hash of their attributes, and life-cycling which describes how entities discover, negotiate and interact with each other. The document presents examples of how these concepts enable mobility and communication without TCP/IP. It concludes by discussing a prototype implementation of cognitive radio sensing cells using the NovaGenesis architecture over Ethernet instead of TCP/IP.
