Many different ethnic and religious groups resided together for at least 40 years under Yugoslavia s repressive communist government. During the World War
II Yugoslavia was invaded by the Nazi Germany. The Serb who was opposing the breakup of Yugoslavia started a war against the Slovenians. In the year of
1945, Yugoslavia began to economically develop differently than its socialist counterparts by creating a unique form of decentralized market socialism based
on workers that are self management. The first goal of the Serb was to completely wipe out he educated wealthy and any other type of non serbs who actively
opposed their rule. Tito was a strong leader who maintained ties with the Soviet Union and the United States during the Cold War. Tit did manage to keep
ethnic friction at a minimum for a long period of time. Then Tito died in 1980. By the late 1920 s a new leader a Serbian named Slobodan

Abstinence Education Programs Argumentative Analysis
Analysis of the Ineffectiveness of Abstinence Education Programs Argument
Does abstinence only programs mean abstinence only lives for teenagers receiving this type of sexual education? There are those who fully support abstinence
only sex education while others deny its ability and believe it only under educates teenagers. From the latter, the author claims that abstinence only programs
are not effective. He presents evidence to suggest this is valid, including that high school students need medically accurate information on how to decrease
their risk of sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy because they are sexually active. Though the underlying issue has merit and the
argument is sound and is valid because of logical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author does not seem to be focusing on the teenagers health when much of his logos came from the expense of sex education programs and the wasted
money involved with abstinence only programs. He stated the dollar amount spent on these programs more than five times and one time mentioned the money
spent to observe the effectiveness of these programs. One example of this is when he criticised that this extension equals another $ 250 million for failed
abstinence only until marriage programs over the next five years (SIECUS, 2014, p.3). He also did not explicitly state how these programs failed so the
audience assumes that it failed because of his following sentence about how taxes pay for abstinence only programs. Although money is always a factor, these
programs are being provided for a reason and are paramount in teenagers lives. The safety of teenagers is usually the concern whether their education is
abstinence based or with additional education on STIs and unplanned pregnancy. Hence, the author should have mentioned how many unplanned pregnancies
teens have faced or a provided a statistic on the spread of STIs. Furthermore, the author did not even provide pathos evidence that abstinence based education
was harmful through a personal recollection of someone who was affected negatively. With neither of these evidences present, the audience is left to wonder
whether abstinence only education is really affecting anyone. However, the author had a pattern of providing mostly irrelevant statistics such as money spent
on programs. Therefore the author sometimes breaks down the opposing side, but does not strengthen his own side through his often misused logos and a lack

Personal Qualities Of Personal Trainers
With an estimated 35.7% of Americans being obese, according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (IBISWorld, 2015) the need and desire for
people to get fit and live a healthier lifestyle has created a demand for personal trainers. Personal trainers are like someone s own personal coach; they help
guide and teach an individual to reach certain fitness goals that they aspire to achieve. This can be done either one on one or in a group setting depending on
the preference of the subject and coach. Personal Trainers help guide and educate clients through exercise instruction, exercise demonstration, diet
recommendations and fitness consolations. Personal trainers typically become fitness instructors out of a passion for being ... Show more content on

They have to understand that everybody is different, where one might just want to lose weight, while another is trying to add muscle and strength.
Understanding how to use and alter modalities to obtain the best results for clients is a difficult task. There are a wide variety of special populations that
require a vast amount of knowledge to understand how to program and tailor workout programs to. In recent years there has been more prevalence in regards
to certifications and requirements needed to become a personal trainer. More and more gyms and fitness centers are recognizing these agencies as the top notch
certifying agencies that they want trainers to have. Never the less, personal training can be a very rewarding career choice where trainers get to help people
reach goals and travel along that journey with them. With that said, higher standards need to be held for trainers within the industry so that there are a set of
guidelines that all trainers are held to. Personal training is difficult job. Many of the clients who begin exercise programs do not continue with their programs
for a variety of reasons. As said by (Melton et. al, 2010) Of those who do adopt an exercise program, it is estimated that 50% will discontinue it within the first
6 months, making exercise adherence a critical issue. It is clear that factors related to adherence are complex, but 1 important factor is a client s feeling of

Comparing Vygotsky s Theory And Piagetian Theory
For the past few weeks, one of my teammates son has been coming to our soccer games. His name is Elijah and he is about 3 years old. Every time he comes,
he always has his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles swords. He is very into the TMNT and is always wearing shirts with them on it and his costume last year for
halloween was a ninja turtle. Elijah is always having conversations with adults and playing with them. On Saturday, Sep. 24, 2016, he was at our game. He
was very involved with cheering for his mother and the rest of the team. Afterwards, everyone went up to him to say hi and he would have a full conversation
with us. Elijah has displayed both Vygotsky s theory and Piagetian theory. He was communicating with adults and using proper language. ... Show more

Her name is Faith Charlotte Capuano and she is 7 months. Her Birthday is February 25, 2016. She is one of the cutest babies I have ever seen. She is extremely
chubby and has very chubby cheeks. Faith absolutely loves playing with her other cousins who are only a few months older than her. They always have play
dates together and are all very spoiled with many toys to play with. By Faith playing with toys, she gives us a great example of Piagetian theory. She can
finally sit up on her own, sleeps throughout the whole night, and loves to babble. When my uncle talks to her, she tries to talk back to him. If you call her name
she quickly looks at you and pays full attention to you. When Faith gives you her attention she is following the Information Processing theory. Faith may only
be 7 months but she can understand everyone who is around her and all of her surroundings. Her favorite toy to play with and nap with is her owl, his name is
hooty hoot. She brings it with her everywhere. If she is napping in the car she will have the owl right next to her. One of her other favorite things to play with
are her feet. She is always grabbing them, playing with her toes, and putting them in her mouth. I have noticed that she loves to grab her right foot with her left
hand and put her righthand into her mouth, especially when she is in the car. As she plays with her feet she gives a perfect example of Vygotsky s theory when

Old Spice Advertising
. The target audience of the Old Spice advertisement are older men with significant others who need a good scent.
2. Detail one: I think this is the targeted audience because he speaks to the audience saying that you (speaking to males) could smell like me if you stop using
the lady scented body wash. Saying to other men, stop smelling like a girl and instead use Old Spice and smell like a man. Detail two: At the end of the video
there is a phrase on the screen that reads, smell like a man, man. This clearly states the targeted audience because he is saying to all the men out there to smell
like a man and be like me. He also says, anything is possible when you re man smells like a man and not a lady. This phrase gives the man fear of his
masculinity if he uses lady scented body wash.

The visual picture created in the Old Spice ad included getting out of the shower to the expensive boat, and then to a beach on a horse. Getting out of the
shower represents reality, and getting out of the shower can apply to everyone. Then going to the beach and being on a boat can represent paradise and this
may give the product more appeal with this type of a background rather than a non aesthetically pleasing background. The props that are used in this visual
include a towel, diamonds, clam with tickets inside, and the Old Spice product. The props used in the advertisement are all fresh, and clean and new. These
items in a new condition suggest that using this body wash will make you smell as new as the products. The social meaning that we associate with these ritzy
props include wealth, paradise, and cleanliness. The horse resembles being majestic and the background of being in paradise resembles serenity, peace and

A Curious Incident Of The Dog
Mark Haddon s A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, a mystery/bildungsroman novel, and Sophie Laguna s The Eye of the Sheep, a family
drama/bildungsroman novel, explore the way certain factors can affect an individual s growth within a familial environment through similar themes exhibited
in both novels. Haddon and Laguna show their main characters Christopher and Jimmy growing up within a dysfunctional family in 20th century Swindon and
Melbourne, where each main character in their respective novel suffer from a mild case of autism, Christopher in particular, Asperger s Syndrome. An
individual s perception of reality directly impacts the development of their growth and sense of self, and their understanding within familial relationships.
In each novel, regardless of the protagonists different perceptions of reality, a sense of self is established as each individual s mindset develops throughout both
novels. In A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, Christopher s unique perception of the world around him due to his condition of Asperger s
Syndrome plays a major role in the development of his sense of self and his growth throughout the novel. In the beginning of the novel, Christopher is
presented with a complication, the death of his neighbour s dog Wellington. Due to his distinct way of perceiving ideas forced upon him, this leads him to
uncover further aspects of his life that helps build his personal identity and contribute a dominant part to his

Context Of Classroom And Research Questions Essay
Context of Classroom and Research Questions
Learning the four stages of action research will help plan for an appropriate project. They are the planning, acting, developing and reflecting stages (Mertler,
2014). Mertler said that action research is characterized as research that is done by teachers for themselves ( Mertler, 2014, p. 4). Obtaining information that is
authentic and trustworthy using the scientific method seems to be a useful strategy for solving problems in one s class. I like this approach since I am a science
teacher.
Background
I have started my 21st year of teaching. I have taught at Science Hill High School (SHHS) in Johnson City, TN for the last 14 years. Each year there I have
taught Honors 9th grade Biology and the last two years I have added 10th grade college prep (CP) Biology. This school is the only city high school in town.
The population of SHHS is 2,201. I found that the population was 86% white, 12.4% black, 7% Hispanic, 3% Asian, and the other 2% were a combination of
American Indian, Alaska Native, or a combination of two or more races (U.S. Department of Education, 2016). The state of Tennessee has a 17.6% poverty
rate (Population Reference Bureau, 2014). I teach the students for half of the year in a block class of an hour and a half each day.
First Steps
The first step of the Action research process guide is to identify the nagging problem or dilemma (Laureate Education, 2015). After completing the last two

Passive Ball Sorter
1. The design objective is to construct a passive ball sorter in groups of two people that will sort hollow practice golf balls from golf balls into separate bins.
2. The goal for the passive ball sorter is to sort hollow practice golf balls from golf balls into separate bins. There is a total of seven balls that need to be sorted
correctly to receive the points in that category. The balls will be released from a tube at an angle of approximately 30 degrees. The constraints of the passive
ball sorter are the following: no electric motors or gas engine, no electronics of any type, made from reasonable household recycled materials only, should fit
inside a 1ft x 1ft x 2ft box, and maintain purchases below $5 for supplies.
3. I began my research for information about passive ball sorters on YouTube. I came across tutorials on how to build such a passive ball sorter made from
recycled materials found around the home. I saw videos where different techniques such as bounce and roll were demonstrated. One example had the balls
bounce off rubber bands into separate bins. The other example had the balls roll down cardboard paths which would separate the balls into separate bins. These
two ideas were a start in the right direction; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I constructed the bottom half of the passive ball sorter, and my partner made the top half of the passive ball sorter. Afterwards, we ran tests on the cardboard

Taking a Look at Muscular Dystrophy
The first written account of Muscular Dystrophy occurred in 1830, composed by Sir Charles Bell (Audrey S. Penn, 2001). His essay, along with many other
accounts, display instances of younger boys getting progressively weaker, losing the ability to walk, and dying at extremely early ages. These diagnostics
continued to become more frequent up into the late 1800s and early 1900s. As these symptoms were being researched and observed it soon became prevalent
that this disease can affect all people of any sex or age. Muscular Dystrophy (or MD) is a general term representing more than 30 inherited diseases and
subcategories that affect the skeletal, and in some cases involuntary, muscle regions (Hegde, 2012). The gene is recessively X linked, meaning that females are
carriers of the mutation even if they do not have the disease, and males will either have it or not. The X linked characteristic of MD is the reason why most
types are seen more abundantly in males. MD can lead to the symptoms seen in the 1800s; inability to walk or function properly, substantial weakness, and
potentially death. The reason behind differencing types of MD is because no one case is the same; they are categorized based of the areas of the body that are
affected, the ages that symptoms become present, and the level of intensity of the disease. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is present only in boys, from birth;
however, symptoms do not usually show until the ages of 3 5. Another widely existing disease is

Convocation In High School
When I was told going to Convocation equals extra credit, I knew that I was going to go. I was told throughout high school to take every opportunity at extra
credit that I could get. Now, it is a habit that is instilled in me. Little did I know I would get more out of Convocation than I ever believed possible.
Convocation started with some formalities such as the Moment of Silence and the National Anthem. To be completely honest with you, I did not know what
was going to happen next. Was this going to be beneficial? Or was I going to sit through something completely bored? The President of Cleveland State, Bill

A Scientist, By Aldous Huxley
When thinking of a scientist, the visual that often comes to mind would be that of a curious, patient individual slaving away in a sterile environment. Scientists
are often viewed by society as quite droll, but in reality, they must be incredibly creative and intuitive in order to make scientific discoveries. Children around
the world often dream of making remarkable scientific discoveries, although for some, unfortunate circumstances prevent them from working in scientific
laboratories. Whether it be due to a major illness or a physical defect, many inspired adolescents are kept from their true passion, due to the demands of the
field. These individuals are often forced into much less favorable professions, but still retain the analytical mind of a prospective scientist. However, those
lucky few who are allowed to express their scientific interests through their alternate occupations, typically novelists, often portray idealistic societies which
have been driven forward by scientific advances. One such disgruntled novelist, Aldous Huxley, allows his creativity to flourish through his work, spouting a
myriad of technological advancements which have allowed society to become utopian. In Brave New World, author Aldous Huxley presents the reader with a
fanciful tale of scientific conquest and social upheaval, which ultimately degrades his reputation as a credible scientist. Aldous Huxley, unlike many of his
peers, was born into a highly prominent family of intellectuals. His

Comparing Beggar Woman by William King and To His Coy...
Comparing Beggar Woman by William King and To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell Beggar Woman (William King) and To His Coy Mistress (Andrew
Marvell) are two poems written in the 17th century when society was very different to how it is today: women had no status, rights, or independence. All
aspects of society were male dominated, they ruled, and so all laws and acts were in the favour of males. The poems are great examples of how society was
when they were written, they also mirror the roles each gender played in the various aspect of life, the males active and controlling, the women passive, and
they had to be compliant. At the beginning of this poem, there is a description of a gentleman out hunting, which is an ... Show more content on

Conversation which then follows is suggestive of the woman s profession. Sitting says she s not usual in my trade this, I believe is a sort of innuendo Let s be

force him to take the baby, if he wants sex; however she does this not particularly skillfully but the man is under the illusion he is acting of his own free will.

Mistakes happen in the workplace, but if they can be avoided by simply asking questions and reflecting on that information then I would prefer to do that. The

Persuasive Essay On Self Driven Cars
Over 37,000 people die in road crashes each year, an additional 23.5 million are injured or disabled, nearly 8,000 people are killed in crashes involving drivers
ages 16 20 ( Road Crash Statistics ). According to the Association for Safe International Road Travel, crashes cost the U.S. $230.6 billion per year, or an
average of $820 per person ( Road Crash Statistics ). So, now imagine a world in where you feel safe to drive any time of the day. Imagine getting into a car
and not worrying about driving alongside drunk drivers, drivers who are exhausted, or distracted drivers who are on their phones. Our technology has
advanced significantly and it only continues advancing. Waymo, a small project that was launched by Google started exploring the idea of a self driven car.
Self driven cars can be beneficial to our society because they will lower traffic while improving safety, lower the death toll in car accidents, and will be
environmental friendly. If we start using self driving cars our society will become less worried about risking their lives and people would not be so afraid to get
to their destination. First and foremost, with self driven cars having quicker reflexes than humans they will be less likely to make the silly mistakes most
humans make which will improve traffic congestion and safety. Chris Urmson, the director of the self driving car project at Google in a blog post says, We
have improved our software so it can detect hundreds of distinct objects simultaneously pedestrians, buses, a stop sign held up by a crossing guard, or a cyclist
making gestures that indicate a possible turn (Hustad). With driverless cars being this smart, it is okay to get distracted or to make that important business call.
These self driving cars are aware like no other and can detect hundreds of objects. It is a little harsh to say, but driverless cars might just pay more attention to
the road than a human can because it never gets tired nor distracted. Karis Hustad also mentions, In a video, the Google driverless car can sense a biker who
veers in and out of its lane, navigate around road construction, and pause for errant pedestrians. The new technology can also read stop signs and waits for all
cars to cross

Adam Has Suffered Under Tort Law Essay
) First and foremost, in order for us to claim for the psychiatric damage that Adam has suffered under tort law, we will have to prove that Adam is either a
primary victim or a secondary victim and Adam is suffered from a recognised psychiatric illness, anxiety and stress will generally not sufficient. Primary
victims are those who directly involved in the event and secondary victims are those who are suffered a psychiatric illness when someone they know is killed
or injured in an accident. A recognised psychiatric condition is defined as a genuine illness or injury, needed medical evidence and has a long term effect.
Adam might claim as a primary victim in this case, because a primary victim has to suffer physical injury or at a risk of physical injury and psychiatric injuries.
The liability of causing psychiatric injury depends on foreseeability of physical injury, for example, in the case of Page v Smith where Mr Page suffered no
physical injury but a recurrence of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and became unable to work, Smith is liable as he could reasonably foresee that Mr Page suffer
physical injury. Adam could claim as a primary victim if Adam is in the zone of physical danger, I firmly believe that Adam was in the zone of danger at that
time because he was seated in the row of the seat immediately behind their children and the risk of physical injury of Adam was also foreseeable, therefore,
Adam owed a duty of care in relation to psychiatric damage. Besides, the

Miracles Of Jesus Research Paper
The miracles of Jesus Christ are integral to Christianity. Without Jesus miracles, Christianity is reduced to a fairy tale, and Jesus is reduced into being just a
magic man who walked the earth thousands of years ago performing great acts to amuse and bewilder an audience. According to Mark 1:15, Jesus was not an
entertainer, nor a magician, being the Son of the Living God, Jesus Christ performed miracles to announce to the Israelites that the Kingdom, prophesied in the
Old Testament, had indeed come (Wiersbe, 2007). Thus, Jesus miracles were the signs of the Messiah (Isaiah 29:18 19) who would have dominion over the

Reflective Essay On Religion
Throughout my life I have been lost and confused when it comes down to one aspect of life, religion. I felt out of place in scripture class freshman year
because I knew close to nothing about Catholicism and about who God is. Up until my time at Brophy, I did not even really consider religion to be a part of my
life. I rarely thought about God and the only times I did were times that were selfish and when I thought I needed help. Like before a big game I would ask him
to help me get a hit, or crossing my fingers when it was the final play of a game and hoping God would help. Looking back that s because I did not truly know
who God is, and I m not saying I do now, but I for sure have a greater understanding through my experience and research. In chapter two I explored who God
is and was able to find a good connection of who God is through the words of Reverend Doctor William Barry. Barry brings up the idea of how God and is like
our parents in a way how they provide us with comfort and are always there when we need them. This I agree with because I believe that the best way that I
have encountered God through my time at Brophy has been through the actions with others, not only my parents, but I have been reinforced that God can be
found in simple ways. In my first experience with getting my dog Harper I talked about how that was one of the only strong evidences that I have of God
working in my life. And this is most likely because I feel that God was acting as a parent to me

carrying messages around the body so that the body is able to react to things such as pain. When cells are grouped together they form what is known as a
tissue. Different types of tissue make up different types of organs. The 3 main types of tissue are Muscular, Nerve and Epithelial. The muscular tissue is made
up of three forms, they include the skeletal, smooth and cardiac tissues. Skeletal tissue is voluntary which means that it is used in the movements of the
skeletal components. The Nerve tissue is a group of cells which react to, many different types of stimuli. They transmit messages throughout the body which

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Abrasive Jet Machining
Sapphire 0.2 0.8 300
Abrasive:
The most common abrasive materials used for Abrasive jet machining are aluminum oxide, silicon carbide. Sodium bicarbonates, glass beads of small grain
size and dolomite are used for cleaning and polishing purpose. The selection of abrasive material depends on the work material, machining operation and
required material removal rate.
The size of the material is also important. The material removal rate (MRR) depends on the grain size. The coarse grains give high MRR, and they are
recommended for cutting. The finer grains are useful in finishing operation. However, the finer grain tends to stick together and cause a clog in the nozzle. The
grain must be sharp edged, but fine enough to remain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thin sections of brittle and hard material like ceramic, glass, and germanium can be machined.
Disadvantages of Abrasive Jet Machining: The material removal rate is low. The process tends to environmental pollution. A dust collection system must be
provided to avoid air pollution and health hazards. This can be eliminated by using abrasive water jet machining. The abrasive powder cannot be reused
because its cutting ability decrease and it may clog on orifice of the nozzle. Higher chance of stray cutting*. Tapering may occur during drilling. AJM not
suited for machining of soft material because the abrasive may get embedded in the work material. Nozzle life is low (300hr), and short standoff distance
causes frequent damages on the nozzle. The air used for abrasive jet must be moister and oil free.
* Stray cutting is an over cutting of material during machining process. It results in a non uniform cutting surface. Stray cutting is unavoidable if cutting
operation not properly controlled.
Applications:
AJM is suitable for machining heat sensitive material like silicon, gallium because the heat generation during the machining is very

the classroom, how a teacher does their job and how visitors act when they come to visit. I have seen this happen in an Elementary school, I have observed it.
One class was quietly walking down the hallway and another class was using outside, loud voices. It was interesting the reaction some students had to the
differences within the two classes. My philosophy on classroom management came from my schooling and personal observations. I do not have a physical
classroom yet, but have seen many different styles each teacher uses when in the classroom. The theoretical perspective that best describes my personal
philosophy is the personal needs theory. Stanley Coopersmith discussed that individuals need to experience a sense of significance, competence, and power
(Jones Jones, 2010, p. 33). I believe that it is important that a student trust and builds a positive rapport or relationship with you. I believe that students, who

Day Camp Reflection Paper
Observation This summer I worked at Camp Cory as a Day Camp Coordinator. This experience came with many difficulties, one of the positives was working
with counselors from other countries, including Spain, England, Brazil, Colombia, and Scotland. In my opinion, some of my best co counselors were the
international counselors. During the eight weeks I was there, I worked with four international co counselors to facilitate a day camp group and worked closely
with several others. Working with counselors from other countries, we shared our different values and learned about each other cultures. Even though we were
from different backgrounds, we grew together, learn to work together despite our differences and became a family together. There were a few challenges that
had to be worked through, one being a language barrier or in many cases an accent barrier. For some of the international workers, English was not their first
language, or if it was, they had an accent that was difficult to understand. The language and accent barrier created miscommunication and funny conversations.
There are many examples that I could write about, however my favorite and the one that impacted me the most has to be from week eight. I was working on

Nuremberg Trial In Criminal Justice
The history of international trials is largely limited to the Nuremberg Tribunals and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. However,
these limited historical precedents, with an imperfect body of jurisprudence from which to draw, afford one objective: the search for justice. This justice,
however, is victim to the political will that drives trials (Goldstone, quoted in Historical Evolution From Nuremberg to the International Criminal Court ).
Thus, although justice is usually the preeminent focus for a post conflict society, it is also the most difficult to attain (Hayner, 8). From a different perspective,
one may see the most significant limitation of international trials to be their subordination to international political will. ... Show more content on

The ancient world was comprised of mysteries. There were no scientific explanations for the structure of the world, the existence of humans, or the meaning of

these questions, though many cultures many have derived similar solutions to certain questions, despite being separated by large physical distances, such as the

In Greek and Egyptian mythologies, there is a supreme God. In Greek tradition this was Zeus, Zeus was now King of all the gods and lived on Mount
Olympus. (Corsar, Reid Rooney, and Smith 9) In Egyptian mythology, this position was first held by Osiris, and the other deities herald him by saying He
lives, the King of Upper and Lower Egypt, beloved of Ra, living forever! Heir of Geb, Osiris, beloved of the gods, Osiris, given life, endurance, joy, health, all
happiness, like Ra! (Kaster 81) After being murdered by Set, he became ruler of the Netherworld, and was replaced as King of Upper and Lower Egypt, by his
son, Horus. The idea of a supreme deity is common in both Greek and Egyptian traditions.
Some Greek deities can also be identified with Egyptian ones, in particular the Greek Dionysus and the Egyptian Osiris. They both preside over fertility, in
addition to their other duties. Another similarity is that they are both twice born. Dionysus was born first from Semele s womb and then later from Zeus s
thigh. Osiris was the son of Geb and Nut and was resurrected by Isis after being murdered by Set. (Livingston, Greek and Egyptian Religious Parallels) Other
Gods and Goddesses that are similar include Horus and Apollo, Isis and Demeter, Hathor and Aphrodite, Neith and Athena and Bast and Artemis.
(FOOTNOTE GREEK AND EGYPTIAN RELIGIOUS PARALLELS) There appears to be an overlap between many deities in Greek and Egyptian
mythologies.

How Does Cassius Use Ethos In Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar Funeral Speech Analysis There are many different ways to appeal to an audience or any group of people. One very clever way of doing this
would be to use logos, pathos and ethos. Logos uses inductive or deductive reasoning by citing facts as evidence, therefore proving their point using logical
evidence. Another technique that an author can use is Pathos, when using pathos the author tries to appeal to the emotions of the audience by describing the
effect of a situation, essentially trying to affect the audience s emotions. When using Ethos it is important for the author to establish themselves as a

If you re like me, you can t wait to get your fingers in the dirt and you want to get that old brown lawn looking lush and green again. If you live in the western
United States, and you know that after October your lawn will become dormant and brown, the following is a 4 step process to help renovate your lawn. The
fundamentals of getting that beautiful yard begins with a spring fertilizer; nitrate and phosphate. When you look at a bag of fertilizer, there are usually two or
three numbers on the bag, for example: 30 10 0 which means 30 parts nitrate which is always the first number and 10 parts phosphate which is always the
second number. The nitrate greens up the lawn fast and the phosphate establishes a strong root system. This is your spring fertilizer, which should be applied
first. A good way to decide when to apply fertilizer is to do it close to the holidays; Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor day. If you are worried about
weeds, you can use a fertilizer with a pre emergence in it. In case you are unfamiliar with this type of product, you need to know that a pre emergence keeps
seeds from germinating. It does not differentiate between flower, vegetable or weed seeds, so you must be sure that it is not applied in areas where you have
flower or vegetable seeds. Many people like to use a weed and feed fertilizer, thinking this will eliminate all the weeds. A weed and feed fertilizer can only be
used when weeds are actively growing because the chemical in the product has to attach itself to the weed in order to kill it. If applied before the weeds are
growing, you will have wasted your time and your fertilizer. Memorial day fertilization means a fertilizer with less nitrate, such as a 25 5 10, which is 25 parts
of nitrate, 5 parts phosphate, and 12 parts of potassium. You can also find something like this with a slow release iron, which is

Lucifer was also very significant. The illustrator decided to make the cat a dark black color because it is an archetype that represents evil. The representation
expressed through the illustration directly overlaps with the description of the character which means that it is very powerful for Cinderella to have the power
to show kindness to the cat. Cinderella also displays hospitality and generosity towards her Stepmother and Stepsisters in both of these versions. The
Stepmother is depicted in both of these stories as torturing and severely lacerating Cinderella. However, Cinderella still finds a way to remain kind and
overcome the anguish and hardships that she faces. She also portrays these traits in the Grimm Brother s version of Cinderella . However, the Grimm

Abstinence Education Programs Argumentative Analysis Analysis of the Ineffectiveness of Abstinence Education Programs Argument Does abstinence only programs mean abstinence only lives for teenagers receiving this type of sexual education? There are those who fully support abstinence only sex education while others deny its ability and believe it only under educates teenagers. From the latter, the author claims that abstinence only programs are not effective. He presents evidence to suggest this is valid, including that high school students need medically accurate information on how to decrease their risk of sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy because they are sexually active. Though the underlying issue has merit and the argument is sound and is valid because of logical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author does not seem to be focusing on the teenagers health when much of his logos came from the expense of sex education programs and the wasted money involved with abstinence only programs. He stated the dollar amount spent on these programs more than five times and one time mentioned the money spent to observe the effectiveness of these programs. One example of this is when he criticised that this extension equals another $ 250 million for failed abstinence only until marriage programs over the next five years (SIECUS, 2014, p.3). He also did not explicitly state how these programs failed so the audience assumes that it failed because of his following sentence about how taxes pay for abstinence only programs. Although money is always a factor, these programs are being provided for a reason and are paramount in teenagers lives. The safety of teenagers is usually the concern whether their education is abstinence based or with additional education on STIs and unplanned pregnancy. Hence, the author should have mentioned how many unplanned pregnancies teens have faced or a provided a statistic on the spread of STIs. Furthermore, the author did not even provide pathos evidence that abstinence based education was harmful through a personal recollection of someone who was affected negatively. With neither of these evidences present, the audience is left to wonder whether abstinence only education is really affecting anyone. However, the author had a pattern of providing mostly irrelevant statistics such as money spent on programs. Therefore the author sometimes breaks down the opposing side, but does not strengthen his own side through his often misused logos and a lack of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She can finally sit up on her own, sleeps throughout the whole night, and loves to babble. When my uncle talks to her, she tries to talk back to him. A Curious Incident Of The Dog Mark Haddon s A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, a mystery/bildungsroman novel, and Sophie Laguna s The Eye of the Sheep, a family drama/bildungsroman novel, explore the way certain factors can affect an individual s growth within a familial environment through similar themes exhibited in both novels. Haddon and Laguna show their main characters Christopher and Jimmy growing up within a dysfunctional family in 20th century Swindon and Melbourne, where each main character in their respective novel suffer from a mild case of autism, Christopher in particular, Asperger s Syndrome. An individual s perception of reality directly impacts the development of their growth and sense of self, and their understanding within familial relationships. In each novel, regardless of the protagonists different perceptions of reality, a sense of self is established as each individual s mindset develops throughout both novels. In A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, Christopher s unique perception of the world around him due to his condition of Asperger s Syndrome plays a major role in the development of his sense of self and his growth throughout the novel. • 10. Context Of Classroom And Research Questions Essay Context of Classroom and Research Questions Learning the four stages of action research will help plan for an appropriate project. They are the planning, acting, developing and reflecting stages (Mertler, 2014). Mertler said that action research is characterized as research that is done by teachers for themselves ( Mertler, 2014, p. 4). Obtaining information that is authentic and trustworthy using the scientific method seems to be a useful strategy for solving problems in one s class. I like this approach since I am a science teacher. Background I have started my 21st year of teaching. I have taught at Science Hill High School (SHHS) in Johnson City, TN for the last 14 years. Each year there I have taught Honors 9th grade Biology and the last two years I have added 10th grade college prep (CP) Biology. This school is the only city high school in town. The population of SHHS is 2,201. I found that the population was 86% white, 12.4% black, 7% Hispanic, 3% Asian, and the other 2% were a combination of American Indian, Alaska Native, or a combination of two or more races (U.S. Department of Education, 2016). The state of Tennessee has a 17.6% poverty rate (Population Reference Bureau, 2014). I teach the students for half of the year in a block class of an hour and a half each day. First Steps The first step of the Action research process guide is to identify the nagging problem or dilemma (Laureate Education, 2015). After completing the last two Walden courses ... The goal for the passive ball sorter is to sort hollow practice golf balls from golf balls into separate bins. There is a total of seven balls that need to be sorted correctly to receive the points in that category. The balls will be released from a tube at an angle of approximately 30 degrees. The constraints of the passive ball sorter are the following: no electric motors or gas engine, no electronics of any type, made from reasonable household recycled materials only, should fit inside a 1ft x 1ft x 2ft box, and maintain purchases below $5 for supplies. 3. I began my research for information about passive ball sorters on YouTube. I came across tutorials on how to build such a passive ball sorter made from recycled materials found around the home. I saw videos where different techniques such as bounce and roll were demonstrated. One example had the balls bounce off rubber bands into separate bins. The other example had the balls roll down cardboard paths which would separate the balls into separate bins. These two ideas were a start in the right direction; ... • 13. Taking a Look at Muscular Dystrophy The first written account of Muscular Dystrophy occurred in 1830, composed by Sir Charles Bell (Audrey S. Penn, 2001). His essay, along with many other accounts, display instances of younger boys getting progressively weaker, losing the ability to walk, and dying at extremely early ages. These diagnostics continued to become more frequent up into the late 1800s and early 1900s. As these symptoms were being researched and observed it soon became prevalent that this disease can affect all people of any sex or age. Muscular Dystrophy (or MD) is a general term representing more than 30 inherited diseases and subcategories that affect the skeletal, and in some cases involuntary, muscle regions (Hegde, 2012). The gene is recessively X linked, meaning that females are carriers of the mutation even if they do not have the disease, and males will either have it or not. The X linked characteristic of MD is the reason why most types are seen more abundantly in males. MD can lead to the symptoms seen in the 1800s; inability to walk or function properly, substantial weakness, and potentially death. The reason behind differencing types of MD is because no one case is the same; they are categorized based of the areas of the body that are affected, the ages that symptoms become present, and the level of intensity of the disease. • 15. A Scientist, By Aldous Huxley When thinking of a scientist, the visual that often comes to mind would be that of a curious, patient individual slaving away in a sterile environment. Scientists are often viewed by society as quite droll, but in reality, they must be incredibly creative and intuitive in order to make scientific discoveries. Children around the world often dream of making remarkable scientific discoveries, although for some, unfortunate circumstances prevent them from working in scientific laboratories. Whether it be due to a major illness or a physical defect, many inspired adolescents are kept from their true passion, due to the demands of the field. These individuals are often forced into much less favorable professions, but still retain the analytical mind of a prospective scientist. However, those lucky few who are allowed to express their scientific interests through their alternate occupations, typically novelists, often portray idealistic societies which have been driven forward by scientific advances. One such disgruntled novelist, Aldous Huxley, allows his creativity to flourish through his work, spouting a myriad of technological advancements which have allowed society to become utopian. In Brave New World, author Aldous Huxley presents the reader with a fanciful tale of scientific conquest and social upheaval, which ultimately degrades his reputation as a credible scientist. Comparing Beggar Woman by William King and To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell Beggar Woman (William King) and To His Coy Mistress (Andrew Marvell) are two poems written in the 17th century when society was very different to how it is today: women had no status, rights, or independence. All aspects of society were male dominated, they ruled, and so all laws and acts were in the favour of males. The poems are great examples of how society was when they were written, they also mirror the roles each gender played in the various aspect of life, the males active and controlling, the women passive, and they had to be compliant. According to the Association for Safe International Road Travel, crashes cost the U.S. $230.6 billion per year, or an average of $820 per person ( Road Crash Statistics ). So, now imagine a world in where you feel safe to drive any time of the day. Imagine getting into a car and not worrying about driving alongside drunk drivers, drivers who are exhausted, or distracted drivers who are on their phones. Our technology has advanced significantly and it only continues advancing. Waymo, a small project that was launched by Google started exploring the idea of a self driven car. Self driven cars can be beneficial to our society because they will lower traffic while improving safety, lower the death toll in car accidents, and will be environmental friendly. If we start using self driving cars our society will become less worried about risking their lives and people would not be so afraid to get to their destination. First and foremost, with self driven cars having quicker reflexes than humans they will be less likely to make the silly mistakes most humans make which will improve traffic congestion and safety. Chris Urmson, the director of the self driving car project at Google in a blog post says, We have improved our software so it can detect hundreds of distinct objects simultaneously pedestrians, buses, a stop sign held up by a crossing guard, or a cyclist making gestures that indicate a possible turn (Hustad). With driverless cars being this smart, it is okay to get distracted or to make that important business call. These self driving cars are aware like no other and can detect hundreds of objects. It is a little harsh to say, but driverless cars might just pay more attention to the road than a human can because it never gets tired nor distracted. Primary victims are those who directly involved in the event and secondary victims are those who are suffered a psychiatric illness when someone they know is killed or injured in an accident. Adam might claim as a primary victim in this case, because a primary victim has to suffer physical injury or at a risk of physical injury and psychiatric injuries. The liability of causing psychiatric injury depends on foreseeability of physical injury, for example, in the case of Page v Smith where Mr Page suffered no physical injury but a recurrence of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and became unable to work, Smith is liable as he could reasonably foresee that Mr Page suffer physical injury. In chapter two I explored who God is and was able to find a good connection of who God is through the words of Reverend Doctor William Barry. Barry brings up the idea of how God and is like our parents in a way how they provide us with comfort and are always there when we need them. This I agree with because I believe that the best way that I have encountered God through my time at Brophy has been through the actions with others, not only my parents, but I have been reinforced that God can be found in simple ways. By late 2000, the courts had ruled that Napster must restrict access to copyrighted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even with their differences, they also share some similarities, much like East Asia and the Middle East. In the 1900 s, East Asia was not facing active colonization, resulting in it being more peaceful than other surrounding regions one of those regions being the Middle East, which had to deal with religious and ethnic tension, in turn, being reflected in their writing. Compared to the Middle East, East Asian literature conveys a more optimistic tone due to less intense oppression as opposed to that of which Middle Easterners underwent, but still touches on some similarities common with the Middle East. The story The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket helps show how both regions had an appreciation for everything, be it big or small. Most of the lanterns were beautiful square ones which the children had made themselves with love and care (159). This shows that even though they lacked many things, they still appreciated what they had, even if it was small. The Middle Eastern poem Identity Card also shows this theme. My house... made of sticks and reeds (80) shows the small amount that the Palestinians in the Middle East had and how they were able to appreciate it before it was all taken away from them. The East Asian poem One Step shows the theme of admiration as well, however this time it is the appreciation of time. The child has learned to talk to walls... dotage, only one step away. (146) shows the passing of time and how, in a blink of an eye, a child would have experienced their whole life and become feeble and old. This shows the acceptance of the East Asian people that life is quick and their appreciation towards what they already had. Both East Asia and the Middle East used first person point of view as well, although each having a different reasoning for doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Gender Stereotypes In The 1980 s The 1980 s are typically viewed as being a great decade for the United States; the Cold War came to an end, the economy experienced major growths under President Reagan, and the United States was starting to emerge as the sole world power whose actions with regards to foreign policy, economics, and social culture would influence how the rest of the world would react in the decades that followed. However, the 1980 s also consisted of the AIDS epidemic. The AIDS epidemic was first identified in the United States in 1981 and by the time the first antiretroviral AZT was approved and released for treatment of HIV/AIDs in 1987, 48,000 people had died directly as a result of AIDS, and over 700,000 people have died from 1981 2017.1 Many people that ... Both Joe and Louis are selfish; Louis in wanting to abandon his terminally ill boyfriend and Joe by being married to Harper despite not being attracted to her. Ultimately, Kushner uses religion to attempt to unify playreaders by showing how needlessly divided we are over something that may or may not exist and that we shouldn t use it as the single standard that defines how good a person is. Additionally, religion acts as a source of exposition in the play17; Millennium Approaches begins at Louis grandma s funeral8 and the use of religion throughout the first act gives readers an idea of how the characters are going to act based on their religious beliefs because in America, religious views and political ideology are hand in hand. Finally, religion and a belief in God also highlights the notion that Reagan s America wasn t that great because certain religious groups during the time believed homosexuality to be a sin, and thus those with HIV/AIDS were seen as being morally deficient and were to be avoided at all costs.10 In 1993, at the height of the AIDS crisis, Evangelist Billy Graham said, Is AIDS a judgment of God? I could not be sure but I think so 9. During that year, there were also numerous anecdotes of kids being banned from Sunday school because of the fact that they contracted it from a botched blood ... • 37. How Does Cassius Use Ethos In Julius Caesar Julius Caesar Funeral Speech Analysis There are many different ways to appeal to an audience or any group of people. One very clever way of doing this would be to use logos, pathos and ethos. Logos uses inductive or deductive reasoning by citing facts as evidence, therefore proving their point using logical evidence. Another technique that an author can use is Pathos, when using pathos the author tries to appeal to the emotions of the audience by describing the effect of a situation, essentially trying to affect the audience s emotions. When using Ethos it is important for the author to establish themselves as a trustworthy, respectful, and knowledgeable person. Doing this the author can use ethical information to win over the audience. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the first times that Brutus uses Pathos is in Act three when he says, Had you rather Caesar were living and die all slaves, than that Caesar were dead and live all as free men?(III. ii. ll. 23 24 )Brutus was saying that if Caesar would have not been killed that all of them would have become slaves, but now since he is dead they can all live as free men and women. By saying this Brutus was affecting the people s emotions by saying what would would have been their future by using pathos. The next rhetorical strategy that Brutus uses would be logos. Brutus uses logos when he says ... that I loved Caesar less, but I loved Rome more (III. ii. l. 122). When Brutus says this he means that he killed Caesar for the good of Rome, not because he hated Caesar. The last rhetorical device that Brutus uses is ethos. Brutus uses ethos when he says Believe me for mine honor , and have respect to mine honor, that you may believe (II. ii. LL. 14 16). When Brutus says this he wants the plebeians to remember how honorable of a man he is and to keep that in mind so that they will believe what he has to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Arhaus Furniture Several years ago, after deciding to redecorate my living room, I visited Arhaus Furniture. The thing about decorating is that my tastes never seem to match my budget, which is how I got into this gardening mess. Arhaus carried table accents that consisted of a shallow round or square ceramic dish full of lush, green, neatly manicured grass. Immediately, I was smitten with the unique concept, but not with the price. After leaving the furniture store, I called my husband and rattled off my list of necessary items grass seed, potting soil, and fertilizer. Considering that I have killed every plant ever purchased, it was evident he thought this was yet another one of my fly by night ideas, yet he went along with the plan. My responsibility ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you re like me, you can t wait to get your fingers in the dirt and you want to get that old brown lawn looking lush and green again. If you live in the western United States, and you know that after October your lawn will become dormant and brown, the following is a 4 step process to help renovate your lawn. The fundamentals of getting that beautiful yard begins with a spring fertilizer; nitrate and phosphate. When you look at a bag of fertilizer, there are usually two or three numbers on the bag, for example: 30 10 0 which means 30 parts nitrate which is always the first number and 10 parts phosphate which is always the second number. The nitrate greens up the lawn fast and the phosphate establishes a strong root system. This is your spring fertilizer, which should be applied first. A good way to decide when to apply fertilizer is to do it close to the holidays; Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor day. If you are worried about weeds, you can use a fertilizer with a pre emergence in it. In case you are unfamiliar with this type of product, you need to know that a pre emergence keeps seeds from germinating. It does not differentiate between flower, vegetable or weed seeds, so you must be sure that it is not applied in areas where you have flower or vegetable seeds. Many people like to use a weed and feed fertilizer, thinking this will eliminate all the weeds. A weed and feed fertilizer can only be used when weeds are actively growing because the chemical in the product has to attach itself to the weed in order to kill it. If applied before the weeds are growing, you will have wasted your time and your fertilizer. Memorial day fertilization means a fertilizer with less nitrate, such as a 25 5 10, which is 25 parts of nitrate, 5 parts phosphate, and 12 parts of potassium. You can also find something like this with a slow release iron, which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Kindness And Generosity In The Film Cinderella On September 11, 2001 several men associated with the Islamic extremist group al Qaeda hijacked four American planes and navigated them into the world trade center, the pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania. The attack immediately impacted the entire United States as virtually everyone in the world mourned the deaths of the thousands killed from this act of pure malice. However, a small tribe in South Kenya, isolated from modern technologies, was informed about this attack around seven or eight months after they actually occurred. After this tribe heard about the news, not only did they mourn for the lost Americans, the entire tribe held a solemn meeting and decided they would send their most precious possession sixteen cows to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The theme of the Little Golden Book Cinderella is very similar to the theme represented in the film, Cinderella. The central theme in the film is that courage and kindness can help overcome the evils and struggles faced in life. The kindness element in both of these stories is similar as explained before. The kindness of Cinderella is displayed specifically in the Little Golden Book version because Cinderella was described as the author as being kind to everyone even Lucifer (4). Lucifer was the dark black cat who was very selfish and would exploit Cinderella because of her graciousness. The careful illustration and depiction of Lucifer was also very significant. The illustrator decided to make the cat a dark black color because it is an archetype that represents evil. The representation expressed through the illustration directly overlaps with the description of the character which means that it is very powerful for Cinderella to have the power to show kindness to the cat. Cinderella also displays hospitality and generosity towards her Stepmother and Stepsisters in both of these versions. The Stepmother is depicted in both of these stories as torturing and severely lacerating Cinderella. However, Cinderella still finds a way to remain kind and overcome the anguish and hardships that she faces. She also portrays these traits in the Grimm Brother s version of Cinderella . However, the Grimm ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
