The paper presents the development of a sign signal translation system using Altera's FPGA DE2 board, which recognizes hand gestures captured by a camera. By implementing image processing techniques and algorithms, the system translates detected hand signs into numerical representations, facilitating communication for the hearing impaired. The software tools Quartus II, SOPC Builder, and NIOS II EDS are utilized for design and coding, significantly improving the efficiency of the system's development.
