- 3. INTRODUCTION OF DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE WORKSHOP Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) is production unit under the ministry of railway. This was setup in collaboration with America locomotive company (ALCO) USA in 1961 and the first locomotive was rolled out in 1964. This unit produces diesel electronic locomotive and DG seta for Indian railways and other customers in India and Abroad.

- 5. STP PLANT (Sewage/Sludge Treatment Plant) Sewage treatment is the process of removing contaminants from wastewater, including household sewage and runoff (effluents). It includes physical, chemical, and biological processes to remove physical, chemical and biological contaminants. Its objective is to produce an environmentally safe fluid waste stream (or treated effluent) and a solid waste (or treated sludge) Suitable for disposal or reuse (usually as farm fertilizer). Hort (Horticulture) INTRODUCTION • The science and art of cultivating flowers, fruits, vegetables, turf and ornamental plants in an orchard, garden, nursery, or greenhouse, on a large or small scale. • Horticultural – An adjective used to describe something relating to horticulture, or produced under cultivation.
- 8. CVL.DRG (Civil Drawing) INTRODUCTION • The term CAD (Computer Aided Design) applies to a wide range of programs that allow the user to created drawings, plans, and designs electronically. AutoCAD is one such program and it main claim to fame is that it is relatively easy to use, it is very comprehensive in its ability to create 2D and some 3D drawings, and it is very popular. Seventy percent of the CAD users in the world use AutoCAD.

BRI (Bridge Reconstruction) INRODUCTION • Developed the reconstruction practical knowledge of railway track, bridge etc. • The branch of civil engineering which deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the railway track for safe and efficient movements of trains is called Railway Engineering. WT (West Township) ET (East Township) • Developed the reconstruction and construction practical knowledge of railway plans, building etc. • In the both department working are same, just like repairing the railway building blocks, working on new project in DLW, construction the new building in Indian railway colony.
- 12. FOUNDATION • The foundations of the building transfer the weight of the building to the ground. While 'foundation' is a general word, normally, every building has a number of individual foundations, commonly called footings. Usually each column of the building will have its own footing.
- 13. Form works in building construction • Formwork is an ancillary construction, used as a mould for a structure. Into this mould, fresh concrete is placed only to harden subsequently. • Designs of these temporary structures are made to economic expenditure. The operation of removing the formwork is known as stripping.
- 14. Column construction works • Column is constructed with the help of steel bars and cement concrete. In case of multi storey and frame structure building constructions, the entire load is born by columns and the floor area/ internal space of building is freely adjusted according to the requirement.
