performance, managing projects and improving governance. Sharing
learning’s and best practices across departments needs to be driven by
this Office of Technology.
Midha Rahul (2016) concluded that digital India is a great plan to
develop India for knowledge future but its improper implementation
due to inaccessibility and inflexibility to requisite can lead to its failure.
Though digital India program is facing number of challenges yet if
properly implemented it can make the best future of every citizen.

IMPACT OF DIGITALIZATION IN
DIFFERENT MAJOR SECTORS
AGRICULTURE: The social transformation of the country and
the economic growth depends on the performance of the
agriculture sector.
• Majority of Indian population still depends on agriculture as
the main occupation. Not only is it the main source of
livelihood for many but also the largest contributor to
national GDP (Gross Domestic Product).
• Many farmers are still deprived of minimum facilities and that
is one of the major reasons for low agricultural productivity in
India. Contributing 18 percent of the country’s GDP and
employing 45 percent of its workforce.
Healthcare: India is leading in the adoption of digital
health technology with 76% of healthcare professionals in the
country already using digital health records (DHRs) in their
practice, according to a 15-country Future Health Index (FHI)
2019 report by Royal Philips, a global leader in health technology.

GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES IN INDIAN RETAIL INDUSTRY
 Rising incomes and purchasing power.
 Rising incomes and purchasing power.
 Changing consumer preferences and growing urbanization.
 R&D, innovation and new product development.
Transforming education and skilling
digital innovative learning
Indian economic growth from past two decades has increased the demand
for quality delivery and facilities at all levels of education. Financial
minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced 99,300 crore for education sector
and Rs. 3000 crore for skill development in 2020-21.
• Adopting digital transformation in Education
• Digitalized classroom/Flipped Class rooms a growing
Trend.
• SWAYAM is designed to provide one integrated
platform and portal for online courses to cover all higher
education
• Video based learning.
• Massive open online course (MOOCS)
• National Digital Library
Multiple challenges in successful
implementation of digital technology are:
• High level of digital illiteracy is the biggest challenge in India.
• India has 1600 languages and dialects. Non availability of digital
services in local languages is a great barrier in digital literacy.
• Poor maintenance and up gradation of digital equipment in rural areas
maintenance and up gradation of digital equipment is one of the major
challenge.
• Increased cyber crimes.
• Directly and indirectly cause on environmental issues.
• Increased work stress, which is effecting on employee health and
creating disorders.
• Management of E- waste.
• Fear of cybercrime and breach of privacy has been deterrent in
adoption of digital technologies.
Suggestions:
• To make successful digitalization, a massive awareness
programme has to be conducted.
• Training on technology: The digital literacy programs
and trainings need to be supplemented with trainings
on data security, measures to ward against cybercrime
and usage of technologies such as cloud.
• Providing affordable solutions and support: Affordable
solutions such as easy instalments, credit options.
• Increase the security for electronic records: Security
systems should be installed and upgraded regularly to
protect digital records and reduce risk of threat or
misuse
Conclusion
• Hence it can be concluded that the technology platform
will bring the desired outcomes, but some Policies need
to adopt to this changing Digital world to ensure that
the challenges mentioned above are overcome and
lead to increased efficiency.
• Technology should reduce the work of the human
beings but nowadays it was removing the human
efficiency this may impact on economy.
• There are clearly both pros and cons of transforming
technology. Extreme technological use may cause all
sorts of problems; socially and physically. It is important
to understand that yes, digitalization is an amazing
thing; but at the same time, should not be used all the
time. Need to avoid over dependence on it.
Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not
perish from the earth.” Whatever the government benefits from
digital economy, directly have a positive impact on every citizen’s life.
