SOCKET PRESERVATION
PLUG IT-SEAL IT-PRESERVE IT!
Socket preservation is a procedure in which graft
material is placed in the extraction socket to
preserve the alveolar ridge. The basic principle
behind socket preservation, although similar in all
procedures, varies with the technique of socket
closure. Among the wide array of surgical
procedures, ‘Bio-Col Technique’ and ‘Socket Seal
Surgery’ give predictable outcomes.

Conclusion
The goal of the Bio-Col site-preservation technique
is to minimize loss of alveolar ridge contours
secondary to osseous remodeling, increase bone
regeneration within the extraction socket, and prevent
soft tissue collapse associated with tooth removal.
Socket seal surgery is an efficacious procedure for
hard and soft tissue preservation and is effective in
providing the necessary conditions for the
development of functional and esthetic pontic site.
