Dr. Ahmed Salem Mohamed is a spine surgeon practicing in southern Illinois. He earned his medical degree from Zagazig University in Egypt and completed orthopedic residency and multiple fellowships, including in reconstructive spinal surgery at Johns Hopkins University and scoliosis and trauma fellowships at Oregon Health and Science University. His research and clinical expertise focuses on spine deformities, degenerative disorders, infections, tumors, and disc arthroplasty. He is a member of prestigious societies including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Scoliosis Research Society.

- 1. AHMED SALEM MOHAMED, MD MBBCh, MSc. Ortho, MD.Ortho I earned my medical degree from the Zagazig University in Egypt. I also completed my orthopedic surgery residency at the Zagazig University Hospitals Egypt. In addition, I completed several fellowship programs: Advanced Reconstructive spinal surgery at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, and Adult Scoliosis and Trauma fellowships at the Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, Oregon. AO trauma fellowship in Switzerland and 2years research fellowship at Johns Hopkins. Currently, I am a spine surgeon in a private practice in southern Illinois. My main areas of clinical expertise include spine deformities and scoliosis, degenerative spine disorders, Spine infection, spine tumors and disc arthroplasty. My research interests include the clinical and functional outcomes of spine surgery with a special focus on adult deformity surgery. He also focuses on the biomechanical testing and evaluation of different fixation devices and techniques in the adult spine. I am a member of many prestigious societies including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons “AAOS”, and Scoliosis Research Society “SRS”. Further, I have presented my research at society meetings, published in leading peer-reviewed publications, and have contributed to textbook chapters and educational programs in different media.
