Earth is the third closest planet to the sun with a diameter of about 8,000 meters. It is the only known planet with an atmosphere containing oxygen, oceans of water on its surface, and life. Earth's atmosphere is mostly nitrogen and has oxygen for breathing, while water covers 70% of the surface. The four basic areas that study Earth science are geology, meteorology, oceanography, and astronomy.

It is the only planet known to have an atmosphere containing free oxygen, oceans of water on its surface and of course life. Waters covers 70% of Earth’s surface. Earth atmosphere is made mostly of nitrogen and has plenty of oxygen for us to breath. The 4 basic areas of Earth Science study are : geology, meteorology, oceanology, and astronomy.
