EDUC 400: Portfolio
Requirement
All online students are required to submit an
ePortfolio (online/electronic format)

Purpose
• Culminating documentation of your
learning from your student teaching
experience specifically related to elements
of the conceptual framework and the habits
of mind/dispositions of the program.
Portfolio Format
• Online seminar students are required to
submit an ePortfolio (electronic/online).
• Sample ePortfolios are provided in the
Portfolio Module.
• Resources are provided in the Portfolio
Module including options for developing your
ePortfolio (i.e., free software applications).

(Criteria for each pp. 11-12 HB)
Habits of Mind/Dispositions
(Choose 2)

• Reflection-in-Action

• Ethical Behavior
Reflection
• One (1) reflection for each of the sections (7 practices/skills plus at least 2
of the habits of mind/dispositions). [150 word min./300 word max.]
• Reflection should include the following:
• Definition of practice/skill or habit/disposition (e.g. how you define
learner-responsiveness?)
• Statement of your beliefs and practices in relation to the practice/skill
or habit/disposition.
• A description of each artifact that explains how each demonstrates the
practice/skill or habit/disposition. Descriptions should be detailed
enough to help interpret the evidence you selected for the section.
(e.g. How do the artifacts you selected show your knowledge and
competency related to learner responsiveness?)
• Use your initial and synthesis posts as the foundation for your
reflections.

Evaluation/Sharing
• The link to your ePortfolio will be submitted through the
appropriate assignment in UNM Learn.
• Portfolios are graded on a pass/fail basis.
• If you fail your portfolio, you will be provided with
feedback and will have an opportunity to resubmit for a
second evaluation.
• There is a mandatory portfolio session towards the end of
the semester that you will be required to attend. You will
have the opportunity to share your portfolio with other
seminar students and school district personnel are invited
to view your portfolios and meet you. (Date TBA)
Portfolio Module
• Be sure to go through the Portfolio Module in the course
to familiarize yourself with the requirements for the
portfolio.
• There is also a Portfolio Support discussion forum. You
are very much encouraged to participate in this discussion
forum to give and receive support as you develop your
portfolio. Be sure to subscribe to it so you will receive
emailed updates of activity and as such will remain
informed and engaged.
• Both the module and the discussion forum will remain
open throughout the semester.
