- 19. 🦆 The Hackathon Mascot (1) 22-25th May 2023 FP Hackathon We chose the _rubber duck_ as the mascot of this Hackathon and introduced it as a powerful debugging tool called “rubber ducking”. “Rubber ducking” is a technique used in software programming to help solve bugs and issues in code. The concept behind it is to explain your code, line by line, to a rubber duck. When you explain the code step-by-step to the rubber duck, you force yourself to slow down and think through the code's execution in a structured manner. The key idea behind rubber ducking is that _it helps you to externalize your thoughts and forces you to approach the code from a different perspective_. It can help you gain clarity, identify potential issues, and arrive at solutions or insights that may not have been apparent earlier. Generally speaking, it can be helpful in everyday issues, not only to deal with code.
