J.R.D TATA
J.R.D. TATA JRD Tata was born on July 29, 1904 in Paris. He was the second child of Mr Ratanji  Dadabhoy Tata. His full name was Jehangir  Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata He returned to India to join the family business. He inherited most of his grandfather Jamshedji's industrial empire but first became a pioneer in aviation.
He became the chairman of the company in 1938.Under his leadership Tata Sons expanded into one of the largest industrial empire in the country- from ironworks ,steelworks into chemicals, hotels, engineering and lot of other industries.  He promoted the Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO) with an objective to produce locomotives for the Indian Railways. Today Telco has emerged as the country’s largest Commercial Vehicle producer..
He founded Tata Airlines in 1932 and by 1953, it developed and came to be known as Indian Airlines and was the Chairman of the Indian Airlines and Air India.. his contributions to scientific and technical research and corporate management gained public recognition from the Indian Government..  He  was honoured by India's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna in 1991.
DHIRUBHAI AMBANI
DHIRAJLAL HIRACHAND AMBANI  He was one of the leading Indian businessmen, was born on December 28, 1932 in Chorwad, Gujarat. Popularly known as Dhirubhai Ambani. He headed The Reliance Industries, India's largest private enterprise. Reliance, acknowledged as one of the best-run companies in the world has various sectors like petrochemicals, textiles ,production of crude oil and gas, to polyester and polymer products..
The company has further diversified into  Telecom, Insurance and Internet Businesses, the Power Sector. Now the Reliance group with over 85,000 employees provides almost 5% of the Central Government's total revenue. He has been one among the select Forbes billionaires His industrious nature and willingness to take on any risk has made him what he is.
LAKSHMI MITTHAL
LAKSHMI MITTHAL He is the Chairman and CEO of Mittal Steel.  He is the fourth richest person in the world, with a personal fortune of US$45.0 billion, and is named 2006 Person of the Year. He is the President of the Board of Directors and CEO of Arcelor Mittal, the world's largest producer of steel. He was born in Sadulpur, a village which didn't have electricity until 1960's, in Rajasthan.
He studied accounting and business at the prestigious St. Xavier¶s College Calcutta.  Mittal began his career in his father's steel firm in the early seventies. With limited opportunities in India, he moved to Indonesia in 1976 and founded Ispat Indo and made the company a success.  His success has largely been built on buying up loss-making state-owned mills and quickly turning them around.
His successes in the late 1989, when he turned around a loss-making steel firm in Trinidad and Tobago. In a year, Mittal had doubled the output and made the business profitable where US consultants and German experts failed to find a solution. He brought Arcelor on of the world¶s number one steel companies.
SUNIL MITTAL
SUNIL BHARTI  MITTAL He is the founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Group can be labelled as the most ambitious telecom entrepreneur in India..  He is a former student of Harvard Business School, graduated from Punjab University. The son of a parliamentarian he did not want to follow his footsteps.  He started a full-fledged business selling portable generators imported from Japan and that gave him the chance to involve himself in activities like marketing and advertising in 80’s.
He founded Bharti Telecom Limited (BTL)  that was  manufacturing electronic push button phones in technical tie up with Siemens AG of Germany.  By the early 1990s, he was making fax machines, cordless phones and other telecom gear. .  His turning point came in 1992 when the government awarded licenses for mobile services. He clinched a deal with the French telecom group Vivendi. In 1995, Bharti Cellular Limited (BCL) was formed to offer cellular services under the brand name AirTel.
Bharti became the first telecom company to cross the 2-million mobile subscriber mark. He has been honoured with several awards like 'Stars Of Asia‘, Man of the Year Award 2002 . He has the credit of breaking the 100 year old monopoly of state run companies to operate telecom services in India.
Mittal heads a successful empire focused on different areas of business through independent and joint ventures. He has a market capitalization of approximately $ 2 billion, employing over 5,000 people and still growing.
NARAYAN MURTHY
N.R. NARAYANA MURTHY He is the chairman of Infosys Technologies one of the biggest IT empire in India. He obtained his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (B.E.) from University of Mysore in 1967 and his Master of Technology (M.Tech.) from IIIT, Kanpur in 1969. He took up employment with SESA in Paris in his early seventies. He worked with a team to design a real time operating system for handling air cargo for Charles de Gaulle airport in France. He came back to India after 3 years and took up a job with Patni Computer Systems in Pune.
He founded Infosys Technologies in 1981 with six software professionals that became one of the leading software company.  Infosys became the first India-registered company to be listed on an American stock exchange. Murthy's ability to put forth his viewpoints and all his other qualities make him a unique personality.
He held several coveted positions in his career such as member of the National Information Technology Task Force of India, the Prime Minister's Council on Trade and Industry, Director on the board of RBI and is also on the Wharton Business School's Asian Executive Board. He should be credited for making India one of the known names in the IT world.
AZIM PREMJI
Azim Hasham Premji Premji is the founder of Wipro Limited, India's biggest and most competitive IT company based in Bangalore .  He joined his family business of vegetable cooking oils in the Western India Vegetable Product company which later became Wipro Products Ltd. Under his leadership Wipro embarked on an ambitious phase of expansion and diversification , namely Wipro Products Ltd, Wipro Technologies and Wipro Corporation . He started manufacturing light bulbs ,consumer products including soaps, baby care products, shampoos, powder etc under the flagship company Wipro Products  Ltd.
He started Wipro Fluid Power, a business unit manufacturing hydraulic cylinders and truck tippers in 1975. His ambitions did not stop there. He entered the IT field in 1980s, Wipro became involved in manufacturing computer hardware, software development and related items It diversified into integrated corporation in services, medical systems, technology products and consumer items with offices worldwide..
His story of success and prominence clearly shows how determination and perseverance, when coupled with knowledge, clear vision and proper planning, enable one to reach the peak of success and leadership. He established Azim Premji Foundation, a not-for-profit organization with a vision of influencing the lives of millions of children by facilitating  elementary education.

INDIRA NOOYI INDIRA NOOYI INDRA NOOYI
Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi  is her full name and she belongs to the Southern Indian city of Chennai. She was born in 28 October 1955 in Madras. She has done her graduation from Madras Christian College (MCC) in Chemistry, Physics and Math. She went to IIM of Calcutta for MBA in Finance and Marketing. She completed her Master’s in Public and Private Management form Yale
She had worked with Boston Consulting Group and Motorola. Indra coaxed the CEO Roger Enrico of the Pepsi to follow-up the company’s restaurant division, including brands such KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, as the chief strategy officer. She have a quick decision making ability and sticking to the work until it’s got accomplished. She is the only Indian woman to become the Chief Executive Officer of the more $ 25 Billion Multinational Company PEPSICO.
Indra Nooyi  has got the India Abroad Person of the Year  award   in the year 2007. Indra   Nooyi  has been named the winner of the Chicago United 2008 Bridge  Award She received the Padma Bhushan  award  by the Government of India in 2007. She received the CEO of the year in 2009
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw
She was born on March 23, 1953 in Bengaluru. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw completed her schooling from the city’s Bishop Cotton Girl’s High School (1968). She took up biology and completed her B.Sc Zoology Honors course from Bangalore University (1973). She later did her post-graduation in Malting and Brewing from Ballarat College, Melbourne University (1975).
In the year 1978, she started Biocon in the garage of her rented house in Bangalore with a seed capital of Rs. 10,000. She is responsible for steering Biocon on a trajectory of growth and innovation over the years. Biocon became the first Indian biotech company to receive US funding for proprietary technologies. By 2003 Biocon became the first company worldwide to develop human insulin on a Pichia expression system.
Biocon’s IPO was oversubscribed by 32 times. Biocon is only the second Indian company to cross the $1-billion mark on the first day of listing. In 2007-08, a leading US trade publication, Med Ad News, ranked Biocon as the 20th leading biotechnology companies in the world
She received Nikkei Asia Prize (2009) for Regional Growth, Express Pharmaceutical Leadership Summit Award (2009) for Dynamic Entrepreneur. ‘ Businesswoman of the Year’ (2004) by the Economic Times. She has also received the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award (2002). She also received an honorary Doctorate of Science in 2004, from her alma mater, Ballarat University
