- 2. Mise en scene- The setting shown here is a houses entrance hall, we can tell its night from the lights that are turned on so that there is light in the entrance hall. They are wearing casual clothes which shows they are in a relaxed environment, this establishes for the audience that they are on a group holiday perhaps. The characters facial expressions show that at this point they are all happy and relaxed, which fits in well with the clothes and setting they in. The lighting in this scene is situated directly above them, which allows for the audience to feel comfortable also, as this is how lighting works in normal life. Editing- The shot shown here is a continuity shot, it links with the previous and following shots, which are all shown as part of the same conversation. All of these shots are shown in a form of light, whether it be sunlight or a lamp within the room. Camerawork- The shot type used in these selections of scenes are mid shots and mid-close ups. The framing of the shots puts the characters in the centre of the frame. With the movement in these scenes being pans, showing both the location at which their in and the characters. The effect of this is to show the secluded nature of where they are staying, as its in the middle of a forest. Sound- The diegetic sound used in this section is the speech in the scene, between the characters shown. Also there are background noises used which are also diegetic. The non-diegetic sound in this section is a slow and quiet background noise used to accompany the speak.

She is wearing pyjamas which shows she is going to bed, this helps the audience work out the setting quicker. The characters facial expression shows that at this point she is stressed and scared. There is very little lighting in this scene, the only lighting shown is being shone onto the right side of the characters face, which creates a darkness over much of her face while highlighting the facial features on the rest of her face, this is used to make the audience feel nervous, as this form of lighting is unnatural. The lighting in this scene is situated below her, casting shadows above her on the wall, which is unnatural lighting and will effect the audience in an eerie manner as they will pick up on this. This is used to bring the audiences attention directly to the text which is located in the centre of the shot, which is where the audience would be looking. The darkness used emphasises the genre of the film. Sound- The sound in this section is non-diegetic, and is a high-pitched chiming sound, its very quiet as to not take away from the focus of the film title. Text Graphic- The text graphic used here shows the name of the film across the centre of the screen. The graphic is white and red so as to stand out against the black backdrop, despite this it still fits in with the darkened screen as both use a very similar worn effect. The font is blocky however used serif, so as to create an old looking effect for the text. The reason for having the text in this way is so it stands out whilst keeping film conventions.
- 11. Trailer Information- The teaser trailer is 1 minute 43 seconds long. The information about the film given to the audience during this time is, what will happen during the film, characters will try and survive being killed by the monster shown. This is suggested by the shots used and narrative throughout the trailer. The plotline shows that the film will be a teen horror. This teaser trailer leaves the audience asking the question of what will happen to the charters shown throughout the teaser trailer, also what is the monster and where did it come from. The USP, unique selling point, of this film is its genre. This is because there are few teen horror films released because of the niche market for them. The target audience is teens to adults, with both and men women being the target audience, this is because of the characters age and the genres traditional audience. The interests of the target audience would be horror films, with no specific background being more likely to watch this than another. This analysis will be useful in my production planning because we can use the mise en scene, sound, textual graphics, camerawork and editing from this trailer in ours, so as to make ours effectively as possible. Also this teaser trailers USP and questions left at the end of the trailer will be very similar to our film, this is because both films are aimed at a very similar target audience.

The lighting in this image comes from the reflection in the masks eyes, which also shows a second film character. The camerawork used in a close up of the character, with the character being central to the image. This shows that they are a important aspect of the films storyline. The marketing team behind the creation of this poster are trying to attract an audience through the use of the films USP. This is through both the teaser trailer and poster of this film focusing on the horror and teen aspect, making it a teen horror. The elements of this poster that I believe could be used in my groups teaser trailer is the dark character shown with a hint at the storyline, for example in this poster the reflection of the monster is used. Also the use of mise en scene and camerawork in this poster are good because we can use these aspects in our own teaser trailer as they fit advertise to the same target market as we have well.
