INTRODUCTION Traditionally, a hotel property management system was defined as a system that enabled a hotel or group of hotels to manage front-office capabilities, such as booking reservations, guest check-in/checkout, room assignment, managing room rates, and billing. We have tried our best to make the complicated process of Design and Development of Hotel Management System as simple as possible using Structured & Modular technique & Menu oriented interface.
- 5. OBJECTIVE The main purpose of my exercise is perform each Employee's activity in computerized way rather than manually which is time consuming. The entire activity is to automate the process of day to day activities of Hotel like. Room activities very safely, Assign a room according to customer's checkout of a computer and Releasing the room and finally compute the bill in short time.

WATERFALL MODEL: The waterfall model was selected as the SDLC model due to the following reasons: • Requirements were very well documented, clear and fixed • Technology was adequately understood. • Simple and easy to understand and use. • There were no ambiguous requirements. • Easy to manage due to the rigidity of the model. Each phase has specific deliverables and a review process. • Clearly defined stages. • Well understood milestones. Easy to arrange tasks. DESIGNING

Limitations Limited Accessibility: The project is restricted to users who have the application installed on their local devices, making it less accessible than web-based systems that can be accessed from any device with a web browser. Platform Dependency: tkinter-based applications may be platform-dependent, requiring different versions for Windows, macOS, and Linux, which can increase development and maintenance efforts. Data Backup Responsibility: Users must manually back up their data, which can result in data loss if not done regularly. Data recovery can be challenging in case of device failure.

- 17. Conclusion: • This project is designed to meet the requirements of Online Hotel Management. It has been developed in Python & Tkinter keeping in mind the specifications of the system. • For designing the system we have used simple data flow diagrams. • Overall the project teaches us the essential skills like: • Using system analysis and design techniques like dataflow diagram in designing the system. • Understanding the database handling and query processing.
