- 3. Sources of Funding Natural Capital Investment Fund, Inc. Uses: New construction of commercial properties that are built to an Energy Star or LEED standard. EE retrofits for commercial properties that achieve at least a 25% reduction in energy consumption. Equipment upgrades or EE savings, improvements to plant/office facilities in order to maximize EE, conserve energy and reduce waste, and/or improve productivity. (Minimum of a 25% reduction in energy consumption.) Amount: $2,000 to $250,000; Term & Rate: Up to 10 years for machinery and equipment loans; up to 10 year term/15 year amortization for real estate loans. Prime Rate plus 1 to 2%. 1% Origination fee. Collateral: Assets financed. Additional collateral and sureties as required.
