about Windows 3.1.
• The most common answer was "Everything", but more specifically
a large percentage said they "Just didn't know where to _____."
So, they came up with this novel feature to give those people a
leg up.

FITB and also tell me the broadcasting limitation
which caused the outrage.
• A certain action during a huge boxing match from the 60s was
quickly dubbed as the _______ _____ by fans and writers alike
because they never saw it happening.
• This was the first heavyweight title fight being broadcasted across
Europe and fans around the world sprang up with several
conspiracy theories relating to the person pretending to be KO-ed
by going down intentionally, owing to the fear of the Mafia.
• However, putting these theories to rest was another journalist who
cited a reason depicting the broadcasting limitation which led to
this uproar around the world.

What activity is being talked about here?
• A majority of people have been doing this relatively common
activity the wrong way thus, leading to the waste of the substance
involved or sometimes also causing an annoying sound.
• When the outlet is kept at the bottom, near its designated target,
uneven pressure is developed in the source because of no space at
the outlet and thus the formation of air bubbles cause the highly
unstable behaviour of the substance when it comes out.
• However, keeping the outlet at the top, far from the target,
leaves space for air to flow inside hence, keeping a pressure
balance and not causing the undesirable behaviour.

What habit/activity? Also FITB.
• ____ __ ___ _____ is a marketing campaign launched last year in
Norway by one of the biggest fast – food restaurant brands in the
world to create awareness about a trivial yet dangerous habit of
some people.
• Since the pandemic increased sales via drive – thru, this brand
took the initiative by smartly modifying the colour of a common
entity relevant to this campaign from its conventional one to
something more apt (pic in next slide).
• This simple yet effective technique helped in drawing attention to
this habit and its possibly painful consequences for the people
involved.

What practice was adopted as a result?
• Four and a half decades earlier, a first – class match between
Oxford University and Surrey was called off on Day – 1 by heavy
rains in Oxford. In what was an unprecedented move, the umpires
decided to call off Day – 2 as well thinking that the rain – soaked
outfield would be unfit for play.
• A drastic weather change overnight meant that play could
continue on Day – 2 however, the umpires had to be tracked down
since they’d left. There was no sign of one of the umpires
therefore, a makeshift one had to be brought in to continue play.
• When the makeshift umpire too disappeared on Day – 3, they had
to make do by adopting a practice highly prevalent in our streets
but labelled by Wisden as unsatisfactory.

What was this more popular creation?
• Nearly 4 decades ago, a marine science educator in California
wrote a comic book with the purpose of teaching his students
about the life of organisms living in the tide pools along the South
California coast in an entertaining way.
• This unpublished comic book and its characters were instrumental
in this person’s later creation a decade and a half later which has
since become very popular among people of all age groups.

What was the entity used?/ Simply tell me the
other patent.
• Two patents separated just a couple of years apart in the later
half of the 19th century would go on to enable farmers living in the
American frontier battle loneliness by bridging their
communication gap brought about by large areas of land.
• Reliance on firms to make this happen would have proved fruitless
as they were unwilling to engage themselves with such expensive
service in these sparsely populated areas. Therefore, these
farmers made a makeshift arrangement for themselves by utilizing
long distances of something between their lands.
• A simple connection to this entity with a single conducting
medium was enough to connect them all together in a chaotic but
very helpful system.

ID the brand/logo. This is the reason for what
specific appearance trait of this product?
• The reason why a certain brand’s logo is white is because the chief
raw material used to manufacture its products had a milky white
characteristic when extracted. Upon processing this extract, it
used to develop into a grey – white or transparent beige coloured
material.
• The products that this firm sells have a totally different colour
nowadays since the WW1 era owing to a possible shortage of
ammunitions.
• Earlier zinc oxide was used to further strengthen this product by
reinforcing the material but owing to the zinc shortage, chemists
stumbled upon a form of elemental carbon as a substitute which
gave better results and hence, responsible for giving it the look it
now possesses.

What calamity is being talked about here?
• In a study done by an information website last year, it was
revealed that the average time to escape a particular calamity has
reduced from 15-17 minutes to 3-5 minutes in the last 3 decades.
• This is owing to the change in materials being used to create the
entity being engulfed by this calamity. The materials used are
mostly petroleum based nowadays with even the adhesives being
of the similar quality which increases their receptivity 8 folds than
wood that was used earlier.
• Another reason attributed to this was the modern trend of making
these entities more open from inside so as to better connect its
inside features with each other.

discovery of a particular species of beetles’ mating habits.
• Found in Australia, these male giant jewel beetles mate on the
ground with their female partners, who cannot fly and have a
shiny dark brown body covered with dimples.
• In an effort to search for a female, a male beetle while scanning
areas near the highways has been noticed to mate instead with a
certain kind of entity with similar appearance to that of the
female.
• The impregnation is not possible and the male usually dies being
consumed by ants or by drying in the sun being buzzed in the

something that truly captures their fans imagination.
• At the beginning of this year, they announced a special away

What detail is being talked about and

• When this artist completed his magnum opus, the cardinals
responsible for curating the works stayed for hours looking and
admiring the magnificent display. After analysis, they met with the
master of the arts and shouted “REMAKE”.
• The discontent was not with all the work, but with one detail. The
artist had conceived the most famous panel with two entities
touching. The curators demanded that there be no touch, but that
both entities be distant and more: that one entity was always
stretched to the max, but the other one had the last phalanges.

• The reasoning behind the
change was that God is
there but the decision to
seek him is man’s. If he

not wanting to, he can go

picking him up. The last

X?
• When Bob drew his first concept of X, it was very different from
what we think of X today. In his original sketch, X wore red tights
and a domino mask that didn't hide his blonde (yes, blonde) hair.
• Bob designed X with two wings on his back that always stayed up.
He claimed the design was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's
diagram of the ornithopter, a flying machine. (image on next slide)
• The design for ornithopter was indeed inspired by the flight of
winged animals, which da Vinci hoped to replicate. In his notes,
he mentions ____, kites, and birds as sources of inspiration.
• Fortunately for us, the initial concept was altered by some finger
work. Although the wings were later changed, some design
elements were still preserved.

prohibits any person or organization except for the Red Cross from

What did she name this replica?
• Thermochemical nanolithography (TCNL) is a technique invented
at an American Institute in 2007. In TCNL, a tiny cantilever viewed
through an atomic force microscope uses heat to activate a series
of chemical reactions that create new molecules. Greater
amounts of heat create more molecules which lighten the surface
of the substrate, allowing a grayscale image to be created.
• After few years, a PhD candidate, demonstrated the technique by
creating a nanoscale replica of a famous artwork. The name of
this replica, which was arrived at by modifying the first word of
the name of the original, directly referenced its main attribute.

  • 4. Just FITB or tell me which feature did Microsoft come up with? • In the early '90s Microsoft surveyed people on what they didn't like about Windows 3.1. • The most common answer was "Everything", but more specifically a large percentage said they "Just didn't know where to _____." So, they came up with this novel feature to give those people a leg up. • They also licensed a Rolling Stones’ song for their ad campaign. Q.1

  • 7. FITB and also tell me the broadcasting limitation which caused the outrage. • A certain action during a huge boxing match from the 60s was quickly dubbed as the _______ _____ by fans and writers alike because they never saw it happening. • This was the first heavyweight title fight being broadcasted across Europe and fans around the world sprang up with several conspiracy theories relating to the person pretending to be KO-ed by going down intentionally, owing to the fear of the Mafia. • However, putting these theories to rest was another journalist who cited a reason depicting the broadcasting limitation which led to this uproar around the world. Q.2
  • 9. A.2 Phantom Punch, Camera placed behind Sonny
  • 10. What activity is being talked about here? • A majority of people have been doing this relatively common activity the wrong way thus, leading to the waste of the substance involved or sometimes also causing an annoying sound. • When the outlet is kept at the bottom, near its designated target, uneven pressure is developed in the source because of no space at the outlet and thus the formation of air bubbles cause the highly unstable behaviour of the substance when it comes out. • However, keeping the outlet at the top, far from the target, leaves space for air to flow inside hence, keeping a pressure balance and not causing the undesirable behaviour. Q.3
  • 13. What habit/activity? Also FITB. • ____ __ ___ _____ is a marketing campaign launched last year in Norway by one of the biggest fast – food restaurant brands in the world to create awareness about a trivial yet dangerous habit of some people. • Since the pandemic increased sales via drive – thru, this brand took the initiative by smartly modifying the colour of a common entity relevant to this campaign from its conventional one to something more apt (pic in next slide). • This simple yet effective technique helped in drawing attention to this habit and its possibly painful consequences for the people involved. Q.4
  • 16. A.4 Eating while driving, Eyes on the fries
  • 17. What practice was adopted as a result? • Four and a half decades earlier, a first – class match between Oxford University and Surrey was called off on Day – 1 by heavy rains in Oxford. In what was an unprecedented move, the umpires decided to call off Day – 2 as well thinking that the rain – soaked outfield would be unfit for play. • A drastic weather change overnight meant that play could continue on Day – 2 however, the umpires had to be tracked down since they’d left. There was no sign of one of the umpires therefore, a makeshift one had to be brought in to continue play. • When the makeshift umpire too disappeared on Day – 3, they had to make do by adopting a practice highly prevalent in our streets but labelled by Wisden as unsatisfactory. Q.5
  • 19. A.5 On – field players taking turns as umpires by standing at the square – leg position
  • 20. What was this more popular creation? • Nearly 4 decades ago, a marine science educator in California wrote a comic book with the purpose of teaching his students about the life of organisms living in the tide pools along the South California coast in an entertaining way. • This unpublished comic book and its characters were instrumental in this person’s later creation a decade and a half later which has since become very popular among people of all age groups. • The next slide has a picture of a page from the earlier comic book. Q.2

  • 42. What was the entity used?/ Simply tell me the other patent. • Two patents separated just a couple of years apart in the later half of the 19th century would go on to enable farmers living in the American frontier battle loneliness by bridging their communication gap brought about by large areas of land. • Reliance on firms to make this happen would have proved fruitless as they were unwilling to engage themselves with such expensive service in these sparsely populated areas. Therefore, these farmers made a makeshift arrangement for themselves by utilizing long distances of something between their lands. • A simple connection to this entity with a single conducting medium was enough to connect them all together in a chaotic but very helpful system. Q.7
  • 45. The name of the Horse? • X was an 18th Century thoroughbred racehorse with numerous race winnings. However he is best known for his name. • His name was originally “potatoes” and his owner told the stable lad to write the horse’s name on a feed bin. No spelling mistakes allowed. Q.8
  • 48. ID the brand/logo. This is the reason for what specific appearance trait of this product? • The reason why a certain brand’s logo is white is because the chief raw material used to manufacture its products had a milky white characteristic when extracted. Upon processing this extract, it used to develop into a grey – white or transparent beige coloured material. • The products that this firm sells have a totally different colour nowadays since the WW1 era owing to a possible shortage of ammunitions. • Earlier zinc oxide was used to further strengthen this product by reinforcing the material but owing to the zinc shortage, chemists stumbled upon a form of elemental carbon as a substitute which gave better results and hence, responsible for giving it the look it now possesses. Q.9
  • 51. What calamity is being talked about here? • In a study done by an information website last year, it was revealed that the average time to escape a particular calamity has reduced from 15-17 minutes to 3-5 minutes in the last 3 decades. • This is owing to the change in materials being used to create the entity being engulfed by this calamity. The materials used are mostly petroleum based nowadays with even the adhesives being of the similar quality which increases their receptivity 8 folds than wood that was used earlier. • Another reason attributed to this was the modern trend of making these entities more open from inside so as to better connect its inside features with each other. Q.10
  • 54. What problem was this practice supposedly employed to solve? • In order to tackle a grave problem existing behind their back, locals living around the border area of India and Bangladesh started following a practice (pic on next slide) which provided temporarily relief and confidence while going into the jungles. • However, rendering this approach as just a fluke, the problem again arose and people became really sceptical about following this practice again. Q.11
  • 58. What is this entity that the beetle tries to mate with? • A certain 2011 honour for Biology was awarded for a peculiar discovery of a particular species of beetles’ mating habits. • Found in Australia, these male giant jewel beetles mate on the ground with their female partners, who cannot fly and have a shiny dark brown body covered with dimples. • In an effort to search for a female, a male beetle while scanning areas near the highways has been noticed to mate instead with a certain kind of entity with similar appearance to that of the female. • The impregnation is not possible and the male usually dies being consumed by ants or by drying in the sun being buzzed in the attempt to mate. Q.12

What was this very famous work that he was made a part of? • In the middle of the previous decade, an American author and journalist wrote a slightly fictionalized story (cover of the novel on next slide) of a certain Aris from the 17th century based on his criminal history obtained from Amsterdam. • Aris was convicted for armed robbery and hanged to death after which he became the central figure of a very famous work from the same era. He was used as a subject by a particular guild in Amsterdam for a public scientific demonstration which was otherwise not done before such a large audience in a theatre. Q.13

  • 65. ID this club. Who is the musician being paid tribute to? • As the oldest one in Dublin, this football club has a rich heritage in terms of their sporting culture but their ground’s musical history is something that truly captures their fans imagination. • At the beginning of this year, they announced a special away jersey (pic on the next slide) as a tribute to someone whose last live performance took place in their ground. • This musicians’ style and attitude were perhaps a subtle nod to the name of the club which also had the likes of Queen and U2 perform once in their ground. Q.14
  • 69. What detail is being talked about and why the change? • When this artist completed his magnum opus, the cardinals responsible for curating the works stayed for hours looking and admiring the magnificent display. After analysis, they met with the master of the arts and shouted “REMAKE”. • The discontent was not with all the work, but with one detail. The artist had conceived the most famous panel with two entities touching. The curators demanded that there be no touch, but that both entities be distant and more: that one entity was always stretched to the max, but the other one had the last phalanges. Q.15
  • 71. The hands of Adam and God in The Creation of Adam • The reasoning behind the change was that God is there but the decision to seek him is man’s. If he wants to, he can stretch his finger, touch him, but not wanting to, he can go his whole life without picking him up. The last phalanx of Adam’s finger contracted then represents free will. A.15
  • 72. X? • When Bob drew his first concept of X, it was very different from what we think of X today. In his original sketch, X wore red tights and a domino mask that didn't hide his blonde (yes, blonde) hair. • Bob designed X with two wings on his back that always stayed up. He claimed the design was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's diagram of the ornithopter, a flying machine. (image on next slide) • The design for ornithopter was indeed inspired by the flight of winged animals, which da Vinci hoped to replicate. In his notes, he mentions ____, kites, and birds as sources of inspiration. • Fortunately for us, the initial concept was altered by some finger work. Although the wings were later changed, some design elements were still preserved. Q.16
  • 73. Q.16
  • 76. How did they violate the Geneva Convention? • A well known PDA enthusiast who recently made the news, technically violated the Geneva Convention in 1999 in his first venture with his current colleagues. • Article 53 of the first 1949 Geneva Convention essentially prohibits any person or organization except for the Red Cross from using the Red Cross symbol for any purpose. • This isn’t just one of the anyday war crime which anybody can flutter and getaway with so the Red Cross immediately notified him and his colleagues that they were in the violation of Geneva Convention and they were forced to remove the symbol by the third iteration of their venture. Q.17
  • 78. Blink-182 Enema of the State album cover A.17
  • 79. Give me the Tagline. • A famous food show presenter and host of ‘Good Eats’ had uploaded a series of videos on his YouTube channel to help home cooks to prepare meals during the pandemic time using ingredients they may have in their pantries. • These videos end with a tagline, common to many YouTube videos (as well as TV shows), with one word slightly changed to make it apt for the setting. • 109. What did she name this replica? • Thermochemical nanolithography (TCNL) is a technique invented at an American Institute in 2007. In TCNL, a tiny cantilever viewed through an atomic force microscope uses heat to activate a series of chemical reactions that create new molecules. Greater amounts of heat create more molecules which lighten the surface of the substrate, allowing a grayscale image to be created. • After few years, a PhD candidate, demonstrated the technique by creating a nanoscale replica of a famous artwork. The name of this replica, which was arrived at by modifying the first word of the name of the original, directly referenced its main attribute. Q.20
  • 112. What did she name her fictional cat? • In March 2019, France’s minister for European affairs said she had named her cat “X” on account of its indecisive nature. • The minister said,“He wakes me up every morning meowing to death because he wants to go out, and then when I open the door he stays put, undecided, and then glares at me when I put him out”. • When this was picked up by numerous London-based newspapers and American media outlets, and amplified on social media, she later had to clarify it was a joke and she did not have a cat. Q.21
  • 115. • “Far from the breezy, contented spouse portrayed by Michelle Williams in the film, Charity Barnum was more beleaguered than buoyant; understandable, given she was married to a _________ ______ _______ for 44 years and raised three girls largely on her own.” • From a magazine’s review of the 2017 biopic The Greatest Showman. You will be mining resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure, automating production, and fighting enemies, etc. • However, if you just fool around and start launching random things and components into space via rocket, you will discover that if you pick up a raw fish from the pond and send it into space, you will get an achievement. Q.24
