More incoming female college students are reporting high school GPAs of A+ and A compared to previous years. A 2007 study by the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA, titled "The American Freshman: Forty Year Trends," found that a growing percentage of incoming female college students self-reported having an A+ or A average in high school. This suggests that more college-bound women are achieving high academic success in their high school coursework than in previous generations.
