Indonesia has developed a National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence through 2045 to guide AI development and implementation across various sectors such as education, health, agriculture, finance, and more. The strategy establishes working groups of public, private, and academic stakeholders to develop a roadmap. It aims to create ethical and beneficial AI, develop talent, build data infrastructure, and prioritize research and industry applications. Current AI initiatives in Indonesia include COVID-19 detection systems, education technologies, smart city projects, and several startups applying AI. However, challenges remain around data and resources, while opportunities exist in new initiatives and international collaboration.
