This presentation will categorize and analyze artifacts from the Indus civilization to understand the daily lives of its citizens. Students will study remains from homes, public buildings, and infrastructure to glean clues about occupations, government organization, and religious activities. Artifacts will be grouped thematically and evidence will be questioned using the 5 Ws and 1 H approach to clarify understanding of this early civilization.

- 1. We will be studying artefacts from the Indus civilisation. Different artifacts will give clues to what life was like in the homes of the Indus people looking for evidence in history
- 2. What are we going to do In this presentation we are going to: Categorise artefacts in to different groups according to the different aspects. Understand the daily life style of the citizens of the indus civilisation
- 3. Some background knowledge the indus civilisation started at around c.2500 BCE Government – the city was well planned with all needed facilites there were different occupations for the citizens There were also a writing system which was done on stone seals

- 5. The citadel was built over 12m high bricks Believed to be used for public gathering or religious activities For people to hide when the city is being attacked On the top of the citadel is a stupa The citadel !
- 6. The great bath was made of baked bricks & bitamen The great bath is suggested to be used for ritual bathing or ceremony The great bath is found at around 1925 –26 The Great Bath !
- 7. There are drains on the middle or side of the road The lower town is organised on a grid system This part belived to be where people in the city live & work Most homes in the lower town have a specific room for bathing The lower town !
