Henry VIII ruled England from 1509 to 1547. He was originally second in line to the throne but became King after the death of his older brother Arthur. Henry enjoyed music and hunting in his free time. During his reign, he went to war with France and Scotland in an attempt to expand his territories but was ultimately unsuccessful. Henry married six times as he desperately sought a male heir, divorcing two wives and executing two others. His last wife Catherine Parr outlived him as Henry grew very ill and obese in his later years before dying at the age of 56.
