- 1. How to Manage Bill Control Policy in Odoo 18 Enterprise
- 2. Enterprise Introduction In this slide, we’ll discuss on how to manage Bill Control Policy in Odoo 18. This feature allows businesses to define rules for bill creation based on purchase orders or receipts, ensuring compliance with procurement workflows. With Odoo’s flexibility, you can tailor the bill control process to meet your specific business needs.
- 3. Enterprise We can navigate to the Purchase module and we can see the Bill Control under the Invoicing. We have two types of bill control policy which is Ordered quantity and received quantity. For ordered quantity, we can create the bill before receiving the products and for received quantities control policy, we can only create bill once the products are received.
- 4. Enterprise We can go to the Products to see how these control policy works.
- 5. Enterprise First, we can choose the bacon burger product and under the purchase tab, we can choose the control policy as On received quantities.
- 6. Enterprise For another product, Apple pie, we can choose the control policy as On ordered quantities.
- 7. Enterprise Now we can create an RFQ using the bacon burger and confirm the RFQ using the Confirm order button.
- 8. Enterprise After confirming we can see that only Receive Products button is highlighted and Create Bill button is not highlighted since we choose the control policy for this product as Received quantity.
- 9. Enterprise We can complete the transfer by clicking on Validate button.
- 10. Enterprise After receiving the product, the create bill button is highlighted and we can create the bill for this purchase order.
- 11. Enterprise Now we can create another RFQ with Apple pie as product and confirm the order using the Confirm button.
- 12. Enterprise Soon after confirming, before receiving the product itself, we can see the Create bill button is highlighted since we have chosen the control policy as ordered quantity for this product.
- 13. Enterprise Now we can choose both the products with different control policies in single RFQ and see how we can manage the order.
- 14. Enterprise We can confirm the RFQ by clicking the confirm button.
- 15. Enterprise After confirming, we can see that both receive products and create bills buttons are highlighted, since both products have different control policy.
- 16. Enterprise Upon clicking create bill button, only the product having control policy on ordered quantity is included in the bill.
- 17. Enterprise Then we can receive the products by clicking on Receive product button.
- 18. Enterprise To complete the transfer, we can click on the Validate button.
- 19. Enterprise After receiving the product, the create bill button is highlighted and we create the bill by clicking on it.
- 20. Enterprise The invoice line will include the product with control policy as received quantity.
- 21. Enterprise So for this purchase order, there will be two vendor bills created.
