Basic of Fire Safety
Fire is a chemical process in which oxygen combines with “fuel”
(fuel = anything that can burn) in the presence of a source of heat.
This reaction is called combustion.
The combustion generate heat, flames and smoke.
Basic of Fire Safety
• Flame
• Heat
• Smoke
• Collapse of building
• Environment pollution
Basic of Fire Safety
How fire exist?
Oxygen + Fuel + Heat = Fire
Basic of Fire Safety
• Group 1 : Identify all source of Fuel on the room
• Group 2 : Identify all source of Heat and spark
• Group 3 : Identify all source of Oxygen
Basic of Fire Safety
• Radiation
• Direct burn
• Conduction
• Conviction
Basic of Fire Safety
Depend on the nature of the
Place , you need to eliminate the
Easiest element
Offices
Mechanical workshop
Tank
heat
fuel
Oxygen
Basic of Fire Safety
Select fire resistance furnishers
Rigular inspection of electricity installation (at least every 6
month)
Cardio hall free from “fuel” anything that can burn
High control of electricity use and electricity connection
Closing any voids between walls with fire resistance foam
Tiles instead of carpets
NO cooking No smoking No overload plugs No gas cylinders
Basic of Fire Safety
Fire can
spread very
quickly

Fire Sensors
Most two common fire sensors are Smoke detectors and Heat
detectors
Select the correct one to the place
Also carbon monoxide detector

To which fire type?
Basic of Fire Safety
 Stand on side of wind
 Aim on the base of fire not the
flame
 Lay down used fire extinghuisher

How to use fire extinguisher
Pull
Aim
Squeeze
Sweep
Basic of Fire Safety
Extinguish cooking oil
Never put water on
burned oil
Basic of Fire Safety
Fire hose rail

Fire evacuation plan
• Determine who will evacuate from where
• Make evacuation roots clear
• Develop evacuation team
• Have necessary equipment
• Excersie drill frequently
• Evaluate and improve
Basic of Fire Safety
• Determine who will evacuate from where
Basic of Fire Safety
Make Evacuation roots clear
• Good lighting
• No obstacles, clean non slippery roots
• Clear indicating signage to exit
• Easy opening emergency doors
Basic of Fire Safety
Devlope Evacuation team
• Team leader
• Team member and responsibility
• Command chain
• Team training
Basic of Fire Safety
Have necessary equipment
Communication
Special cloth
Lights
Other equipment
Basic of Fire Safety
Evaluation and improvement
Every drill must be evaluated
Discover weaknesses
Thing and find improvements
