This document summarizes an action research study that implemented person-centered reminiscence education for nurses caring for elderly persons with dementia in long-term care. The study aimed to improve nurses' knowledge of reminiscence methods and develop competence in person-centered care. Data was collected through appreciative inquiry meetings with nurses. Outcomes included residents experiencing comfort and enjoyment from looking back on life experiences, maintaining identity and self-esteem, and reducing behaviors like frustration. The conclusion was that understanding of person-centered reminiscence increased but organizational change requires ongoing support and training for long-term impact.
