An interview is a conversation between two or more
people (interviewer & interviewee) where questions
are asked by the interviewer to obtain information
from the interviewee.

Ensure that the room layout is appropriate.
Ensure that adequate refreshments are provided.
Ensure all members of the panel are present.
Identify key selection criteria.
Discuss questions and order of questions with the panel
members.
The Employee is well-informed about the employer.
The Employee understands how he / she can contribute in
a job role.
The Employee ensures that the first impression is good.
The Employee’s portfolio.

•Talk to family / friends / relatives who have work experience in the area.
Choose a typical job role.

What people are expected to do in this job role.
Based on this, prepare a job profile .
Solid color, conservative trousers.
White / light colored long sleeve shirt.
Sober looking tie, formal shoes.
Avoid fashion accessories .
Neatly shaven, neat hairstyle.
Portfolio or briefcase for documents.
Formal Indian wear.
Moderate shoes.
Limited jewellery and Manicured nails.
Neat, professional hairstyle.
No / light make-up & perfume.
Portfolio or briefcase for documents
Extra copies of your resume.
References, Recommendation letters.
Essential supporting documentation.

Zone 1: Getting to the interview.
Zone 2: The first 3 minutes – Introductions.
Zone 3: Testing your credibility / Basic level.

Zone 7: Closure / Go Forwards.
Being on time:
•Find out about the location in advance .
• Keep enough time for registration at the company security desk
In case of delays :
•Inform the company and / or placement agency as early as possible.
•–In case you are getting delayed on the way to the interview, call and
inform the company.

Quiet Confidence , Be cheerful .
Walk in confidently.
Show your proactive attitude by introducing yourself.
Greet and shake hands with the interviewer.
Thank them for the opportunity to meet.

Tell me about a time when you had to make a decision you knew would
make you unpopular.
Describe a time when you were under pressure and missed a deadline.
Share an experience from your life where you were greatly disappointed.
How did you handle/cope with the disappointment?
Questions about your interest in the organization in

What are your short-term and long-term goals?
What do you want to achieve in life?
Why should I hire you?
Leave with a firm handshake.
Prepare to answer “Do you have any questions to ask of us?
.
Thank the interviewer for his/her time.
Reiterate your interest in the position and company.
If they offer to contact you, politely ask when you should
expect their call.
Ask the candidate if he/she has any questions.
Confirm their current salary and notice period is as stated on their
application form, if not gather the updated details.
Contact details, i.e. mobile phone number for informing candidates of the
outcome.
Inform the candidates that they will be contacted with the decision as
soon as after the interview.
Confirm that normally HR will contact with the decision.
We know that as being an Engineer we must require
thorough technical knowledge , but with that we also require
interview skills. To clear our first mile stone that is interview
to become a successful professional.
If we Prepared well ,Understand and follow the
instructions of Interview skills than we all will get success in
life.
