What is the Salesforce.org
Higher Education Advisory Council?
We are a group of Salesforce
thought leaders who are passionate
about using this platform in higher education
and believe in its ability to transform our institutions,
our industry, and the lives of our constituents.
Mission Statement
The Higher Education Advisory Council will collaborate with
Salesforce and industry partners to make Salesforce work for
Higher Ed.
We fulfill this mission by:
Leveraging our collective higher ed, IT, and Salesforce expertise
to make a difference on our campuses
Maintaining a collaborative community that shares code,
best practices, and documentation
Identifying needs and advocating for solutions
Connecting with new and prospective Salesforce.org higher ed
customers
Participating in outreach efforts through webinars, blogs, Higher
Ed Summit presentations, Force For Change Grant applications,
etc.
Recognizing the diversity of functionalities and needs of higher ed
institutions

Attend at least one of the

Dreamforce, Higher
Education Summit
Actively participate in
Council calls/meetings

calls/ meetings
(extenuating
circumstances may be
approved by the
executive committee)
Provide advice and
feedback to
Salesforce about
needs/concerns of
Higher Ed clients
Collaborate with
Salesforce.org on
higher ed content
Other duties/
responsibilities as
defined by each
term’s members
Actively participate
in/volunteer for Council
initiatives/ Committees,
including Higher Ed
Office Hours, User
Group, etc.
Present, Write Blogs,
Post in “Power of Us”
Hub and Success
Collaborate on initiatives
like the Force for
Change Grant
Example Council Member Attributes

Membership and the Officer Succession Model
Member

All nominees are considered for member status in the council
Membership is for one year
With the exception of officers, current members need to submit nominations each year just as new
members do
Nominees may designate their interest in becoming an officer
With the exception of the founding and appointed officers, all officers will begin as
the Committee Chair and proceed through each office, serving for one year in
each officer position
Council Nomination Process
Nominations will be accepted each year through June 30
• Nominations will be accepted through an online form only
• An executive committee member will interview each nominee
• The executive committee will vote on all nominations between
July 1 and September 30 each year
• Terms of approved nominees will begin on October 1 annually
New members are expected to attend the in-person meeting the day before
Dreamforce
Note: Membership is person-oriented, not school-oriented.
Schools can have only two members annually, one of which is the voting member.
If the first member is an officer, the officer receives voting rights.
