Cloud computing uses
Cloud computing allows companies to access applications and store data remotely via the internet instead of locally. It provides scalable IT resources on demand that can be accessed from anywhere. Some key benefits include reduced costs, increased flexibility and collaboration capabilities. However, security and privacy concerns remain top issues that need to be addressed. Control testing and governance models are important to effectively mitigate risks when using cloud services. Case studies of companies like Salesforce.com and GSK demonstrate how cloud can drive innovation while reducing IT costs through the subscription-based model.

*On-premises versus the cloud
*Design & benefits of real-time operational data in the cloud
*Best practices and architectural considerations
Cloud computing is the on-demand availability of computer system resources, especially data storage and computing power, without direct active management by the user. The term is generally used to describe data centers available to many users over the Internet
The on-demand provision of computer services, including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, and analytics, is known as cloud computing. Cloud-based storage enables distant file saving as opposed to local storage or proprietary hard disk storage. Due to its ability to provide cost savings, enhanced productivity, speed and efficiency, performance, and security, cloud computing is becoming more and more popular among individuals and enterprises.

This SlideShare presentation will provide a detailed overview of the MCP Model, its applications, and how it plays a crucial role in improving communication and decision-making in distributed systems. We will explore the key concepts behind the protocol, including the importance of context, data management, and how this model enhances system adaptability and responsiveness. Ideal for software developers, system architects, and IT professionals, this presentation will offer valuable insights into how the MCP Model can streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and create more intuitive systems for a wide range of use cases.
TrustArc Webinar: Consumer Expectations vs Corporate Realities on Data Broker...TrustArc
Most consumers believe they’re making informed decisions about their personal data—adjusting privacy settings, blocking trackers, and opting out where they can. However, our new research reveals that while awareness is high, taking meaningful action is still lacking. On the corporate side, many organizations report strong policies for managing third-party data and consumer consent yet fall short when it comes to consistency, accountability and transparency.
This session will explore the research findings from TrustArc’s Privacy Pulse Survey, examining consumer attitudes toward personal data collection and practical suggestions for corporate practices around purchasing third-party data.
Attendees will learn:
- Consumer awareness around data brokers and what consumers are doing to limit data collection
- How businesses assess third-party vendors and their consent management operations
- Where business preparedness needs improvement
- What these trends mean for the future of privacy governance and public trust
This discussion is essential for privacy, risk, and compliance professionals who want to ground their strategies in current data and prepare for what’s next in the privacy landscape.
Book industry standards are evolving rapidly. In the first part of this session, we’ll share an overview of key developments from 2024 and the early months of 2025. Then, BookNet’s resident standards expert, Tom Richardson, and CEO, Lauren Stewart, have a forward-looking conversation about what’s next.

25. Azure Backup Solutions- Home Builders, METRICON
Solutions:
1. They first moved its Email Messaging to Office 365 – gave better mobile access to the
employees.
2. Azure Blob Storage: They also moved their backups to cloud ( Azure ) – realize that their
data will be more secure than if stored on tape.
3. Azure backup offers better uptime from its global datacenters.
4. Geo Redundancy- Six copies of data stored in two geographical regions where Amazon
could not match.
5. Azure Steel Store – Which uses deduplication technology to eliminate redundancy of
the data.
Challenges:
1. Their Infrastructure team is not
very big, and backup’s were
becoming a big drain
2. Our homes come with 25 year
warranties, so we keep our
backup tapes for decades.
3. They need to ensure that they
have warranties & other
documents in Hand , if their
customers need them.
Business Needs:
1. They are having 40 terabytes of data
that it backed up to tapes and moved
offsite for safe keeping.
2. An employee is spending more than 10
hours/week for managing backups.
3. Service Delivery
Conclusion:
1. By Backing up the data to cloud ,
Metricon reduced tape backup
work by 80% and backup costs by
28,000 $USD, annually and also
improved backup reliability.
2. They are spending only 2 hours a
week instead of 10 hours by using
Azure Backup.

2. High availability solution based on SQL Server, that keeps the data
synchronized between on premise and cloud.
3. Always On makes it possible for applications to automatically connect to the
database replicas stored off-premises during an emergency.
4. The solution also includes a virtual private network (VPN), which connects on-
premises infrastructure and radio frequency (RF) devices used throughout the
supply chain to Microsoft Azure.
Challenges:
1. Timely Delivery
2. High Availability
3. Same day delivery to Critical
Areas.
4. Maintaining the Large amount of
Data
Business Needs:
1. They want to improve their Distribution
Network.

30. Scenario: Web hosting with Azure
Solution : Azure websites
Contoso currently has:
• A company intranet
• Several ASP.NET applications
• Several WordPress sites
- Including a WordPress blog
hosted in Internet Information
Server (IIS).
The sites are hosted on two web servers which are not load-
balanced which causes downtime.
Contoso wants to implement a BI solution with SQL Server 2014
Reporting Services but is concerned about the growing number
of applications that need to be accessed remotely by users with
a variety of different mobile devices.
Contoso may be willing to migrate its on-
premises web sites to Azure.
As part of the pilot, Contoso and its Microsoft partner will
work closely to create and manage a Word Press Blog, and
ASP.NET website which accesses SQL Server databases in
Azure as well as on-premises SQL Server data.
With this new capability, Contoso can reduce the number of
on-premises servers needed to develop and run production
web content, as well as provide users with easy, secure
access to corporate data by integrating Azure AD with on-
premises AD.
32. Contoso expects to
implement 10+ new
virtual machines this year
As the number of workloads and
hosts grow, servicing the virtual
machines and hosts
becomes a more complex and
manual process
Contoso will SAVE approximately
40 % } of the IT costs of running the on-premises servers by
migrating their virtual machines to Azure.
Scenario: Azure IaaS

1. Xerox is adding more than 1000
learning courses every year.
2. How to help employees create
video content and integrate it
with learning processes.
3. How to access that content on
mobile devices and scale
everything for a global
organization.
Business Needs
1. They wanted to shift its employee
learning focus from a traditional approach
focused on classroom-based learning to a
more needs-driven approach.
