The Higher Education Advisory Council (HEAC) is a volunteer group of thought leaders in higher education who are passionate about using Salesforce to transform institutions. The HEAC works with Salesforce.org to set standards, share best practices, identify needs, and advocate for solutions to support education. Members include representatives from universities who collaborate, share expertise, and provide input to Salesforce.org to help guide product development and support the higher education community.

- 2. What is the Higher Education Advisory Council? The Higher Education Advisory Council (HEAC) is a group of Salesforce thought leaders who are passionate about using the platform in higher education and believe in its ability to transform our institutions, our industry, and the lives of our constituents.

Mission Statement The Higher Education Advisory Council is a customer-led, volunteer body who work with Salesforce.org and the community to recognize and set common standards for the delivery of platform solutions to support education. We fulfill this mission by: • Leveraging our collective higher ed and Salesforce expertise to make a difference on our campuses • Maintaining a collaborative community that shares code, best practices, and documentation • Identifying needs and advocating for solutions • Connecting with new and prospective Salesforce.org higher ed customers • Participating in outreach efforts through webinars, blogs, Higher Ed Summit presentations, etc. • Recognizing the diversity of functionalities and needs of higher ed institutions

Connect Collaborate LeadShare Duties and Responsibilities of Council Members Attend at least one of the following annual events: Dreamforce, Higher Education Summit Actively participate in Council calls/meetings • Participate in 75%* of calls/ meetings (extenuating circumstances may be approved by the leadership team) Provide advice and feedback to Salesforce about needs/concerns of higher ed clients Collaborate with Salesforce.org on higher ed content Other duties/ responsibilities as defined by each term’s members Actively participate in/ volunteer for Council initiatives and committees, including Higher Ed Office Hours, User Group, etc. Present, write blogs, post in “Power of Us” Hub and Trailblazer communities Collaborate on initiatives

Typical Council Member Attributes • Willingness/motivation to actively volunteer and participate • Active in “Power of Us Hub” and/or Trailblazer Community • Participant in the Higher Education Community Group • Frequent reference calls and show and tell demonstrations for colleagues in higher ed • Resource for Salesforce best practices • Guest blogger for Salesforce • Presenter at Salesforce events and other higher ed conferences • Thought leader willing to give feedback on customer experience, product, use case, pricing and roadmap to Salesforce • Volunteer participant in current council initiatives • Senior-level higher ed subject matter expert using Salesforce

Membership and Officer Succession Model Member Initiatives Co-Chair (Year 1)* Initiatives Co-Chair (Year 2)* Vice Chair Chair Immediate Past Chair ❏ All nominees are considered for member status in the council ❏ Membership is for one calendar year ❏ With the exception of officers, current members need to submit nominations each year just as new members do ❏ Nominees may designate their interest in becoming an officer ❏ With the exception of the appointed officers, all officers will begin as an Initiatives Co-Chair* and proceed through each office, serving for one year in each officer position

Council Nomination Process Nomination process ● Nominations are accepted each year in the fall (exact dates are posted to the Power of Us HUB). ● Nominations are submitted through an online form. ● The HEAC Leadership Team reviews each nominee and voting takes place in November. ● New terms begin the following year on Jan 1. Member engagement expectations ● Attend one of the two in-person meetings that are held the day before Dreamforce and the Higher Ed Summit. ● Join 75%* of the bi-monthly Full Council meetings (1st and 3rd Fridays). ● Participate in standing initiatives and lead/contribute to new initiatives ● Collaborate and share with each other, Salesforce customers and Salesforce leaders/staff Note: Membership is person-oriented, not school-oriented. Schools can have only two members annually, one of which is the voting member. If the first member is an officer, the officer receives voting rights.
