Preparing Site for Construction Projects:
To construct excellent project, the condition of the project site including subsurface and surface condition must be
investigated and assessed thoroughly. Site assessment may involve determining the present and installation of
underground services, specify suitable foundation depend on recommendation of
Steps in Preparing Site for Construction Projects
-Stages or steps which are needed to undertake to prepare the construction project site are.
1} Geotechnical report related to site soil properties
2} Construction site clearing and excavation
3} Grading of project site
4} Project site compaction
- Land leveling is the process of modifying the surface relief by smoothening it. It is the process of flattening or
modifying existing (natural) slopes or undulations and thereby creating a level surface. Normally land leveling requires
excavation and movement of earth from higher elevations to lower elevations.
Types of Leveling Methods used in Surveying
- Direct Leveling.
- Trigonometric Leveling.
- Barometric Leveling.
- Stadia Leveling.

* Excavation:
mark layout the plot and establish at least benchmark for
level and measurment.
Excavate the foundations as per the excavation drawing
*PCC Work:
pcc stans for plain cement concrete of grade M7.5-M10.
The PCC provides a leveled surface to the foundation
work. It has a thickness of 75-100 mm

Brief Description
*Backfilling work:
After footing casting, remove the shuttering and cure the footing. The pits excavated for the foundation are filled with
soil and compacted by a suitable method. Compact the soil till it achieves 95% compaction
Plinth level is the floor finished level. The structure below the plinth level is filled with soil and called Sub-structure
*Foundation:
• Part of a structural system that supports and anchors the superstructure of a building and transmits its loads directly
to the earth.
1. Prepare the Foundation Layout.
2. Then, we need to dig ground until we come to subsoil.
3. After that fill Based Footing with; Stone, Small Bricks Pieces & Cement.
4. This we are using Box-Foundation, there for its dimension given by architect are:
» Area of the hole: 5’ X 6’
» Steel netting work: 4’ X 5’
» Distance of 10mm 1 rod to 2 rod is 10cm
» R.C.C=3’6” X 3’6” (L x B) & D= 3’8” (Depth)
» P.C.C= 4’6” X 4’6” (L x B)
» Column Size: 9” X 9”
» Steel: 8 Nos of 12mm.

Coloumn
Column or pillar are used to model vertical load-bearing elements in a building Transferring load from the top of the
structure to the foundation.
Column sections can be rectangular, round, square shape.
Size of column should not be less than 9”x 9” 4 Main bars of 12mm Steel & 8mm ring on it.
Plinth beam
Plinth beam is a reinforced concrete beam constructed between the wall and its foundation.
Plinth beam is provided to prevent the extension or propagation of cracks from the foundation into the wall above when
the foundation suffers from settlement.

Brief Description
WALL
A wall is a structure and a surface that defines an area; carries a load;
provides security, shelter, or soundproofing; or, is decorative.
Bricks
Rows of Bricks are bound together by a cementitious.
* Clay cement is used whose Ratio is 1:6 (1 bag cement & 6 Parts of sand).
* L x B x H in (mm) of one brick = 225 x 112 x 65 + 10mm joint (cement filling).
* Depending on worker speed the wall is constructed in 1 OR 3 days.
* When the plastering is complete for the brick wall, it is advised to water the wall for 7 days and keep the cement
wet for total 15 days.
* In order to Hydration of the cement is what gives the concrete its compressive strength.

slab construction process
1. The preparation of formwork.
2. Compaction of a slab bed.
3. Placing Electrical Wire Line & Pipe Lines.
4. Placement of reinforcement.
5. Pouring & Compacting.
6. Finishing the concrete.
7. Removing formwork, jack span and curing the concrete slab.
- Ratio of Concrete mix: 1:2:4 (1-Bag Cement, 2-Parts Sand, Part Aggregate)
It took 4 to 7 Hours for Slab to get Setting after filling.
However, For 28 days we need to stored water on the slab.

Electricity LIne
They work according to given plan or client suggestion or need. Before slab casting work, electrician man visit
the side & installed all needy electrical line, selling lights box, fan hook, switch board box into wall.
They used two color plastic pipe line to pass wire through it.
1. Green color: for main wire line passes from main board to all switch board.
2. Blue color: for all points wire line passes from switch board to 1 or 2 lights or 1 or 2 selling fans, which will
work just by 1 switch.
Drainage or HAVC line
Plumbean is the process of installing the pipework and other assemblies for a functioning water supply and drainage
system.
UPVC pipes used for all purposes such as hand wash basin, Kitchen sinks to the toilets urinals and all other areas CPVC
Pipes used for hot water supply.

Plastering covers rough edges and uneven surfaces, thus increasing durability and
strengthening walls. Plastering also gives a good finish to the walls of your house and this

• Ratio of Plaster is 15:1 (15-part white sand & 1-bag cement)
• Types of wall plaster done:
1. Kitchen, Bath & W.C: Rough plaster
2. Rooms: Smooth finishing plaster
3. Outerwall: Double coated plaster
