In Odoo from 14 onward, a feature is been added under PoS settings for Inventory Management that helps to understand how the stock is being updated. Stock is updated in 2 ways: 1. At the session closing: Stock updated after the session is closed and posted. 2. In real-time: Stock updates once the PoS sales happen(real-time).

INTRODUCTION
❖ In Odoo 15 PoS Inventory Management that helps to understand how the stock
is being updated.
❖ Stock is updated in two ways:
➢ At the session closing: Stock updated after the session is closed and posted .
➣ In real-time: Stock updates once the PoS sales happen(real-time).

❖ In PoS module, for inventory management a feature is included under. So let’s go to PoS
Module. Select configuration > settings.

❖ Here, we have the option ‘Inventory Management’, choose the first option ‘At the session closing’
that is, Stock updated after the session is closed and posted. So, enable the option and save.

❖ Open a new session and choose a product in the Point of Sale. Also in the ‘Info’ icon check
the available quantity of the product.

❖ 3 quantities are ordered by the customer on this product.
❖ Creating order > Click on payment for making the payment.

❖ After closing the session and posting entries. Go back to the product then check with the
quantity. We will get updated with quantity.

❖ About second option ‘In real-time’ , Stock updates when the PoS sales happen.

❖ Open a new session, and choose the product and check the available product for the product.

❖ 5 Quantities are ordered by the customer on this product.
❖ Creating order > Click on payment for making the payment.

❖ After validating the order. Go to products check the available quantity of the product. It will be
reduced.
