Time management – is a set of principles, practices,
skills, tools and systems that helps in time to
accomplish what is needed.
Good and effective time management – is the
proper use of time to accomplish excellent work at
the expected period.
Ideas on Effective Time Management
Planning effectively and realistically.
Creating and providing the
conditions to manage time
effectively.
Setting a list of priorities.
Setting specific dates or deadlines
to complete the work or activity.
Identifying from the list of priorities
those tasks or work that are urgent
and must be done immediately.
Providing the right amount of time to
accomplish every step of the work or
activity on the scheduled period.
Guidelines for Effective Time Management
Be organized.
Manage time well when work has
already started.
Focus and sustain interest and
motivation on the excellent work that
is needed to be finished.
Overcome the temptation or break

People who have discipline in managing time are
appreciated as honest, industrious and trustworthy
members of their organization. These character traits are
vital requirements for promotion or advancement in the
workplace. Life becomes meaningful, fulfilling,
rewarding and successful for people who actualize
effective time management.
Effective time management enables
you to identify the urgent priorities
that you need to attend to.
You become more aware of the
reality that the day and night cycle
consist of 24 hours.
You realize that acting on priority
work on a daily basis brings you
closer to its completion.
You accomplish your goals and
perform the processes that are
required to finish your work or tasks.
You prevent time, efforts and
resources from being wasted as you
get the work completed as scheduled.
You avoid being stressed, exhausted
or tired working on a task within a
limited period.
Guidelines for Learners to Avoid Wasting Time
Be aware of the modern technologies
that are available for effective time
management to enhance your studies.
Establish orderly, systematic and
organized study habits.
Set a daily study schedule.
Resolve not to turn on the television set
during your study time.
Set a rest time in between continuous
or long study periods.
Avoid cramming and rushing to
complete your requirements when the
set deadline for submission is nearing.

The determination to plan to make good use of time will help in
realizing goals to become better and successful. There are three
important ideas or reminders to remember:
1. Be orderly and organized with your work priorities or
schedules.
2. Resolve to avoid wasting your time.
3. Stay focused on the priority that you need to complete on a
specific date or schedule
