Task 2 – Collating your group resultsWednesday 20th October 2010
Today’s ObjectivesLearning ObjectivesTo understand how to collate results taken from a questionnaireTo be able to present these results in a basic formatChallenge ObjectiveTo work independentlyTo begin to make some analysis of your results
Stage 1This is the only part of the task for you to work on as a group. You must compile your results into an excel document like the example shown to you in the lesson.Once you have done this you need to share it around each group member – use a memory stick to save it from one persons area onto everyones.
Stage 2From this point on you will be working individually to collate and present your results.Once you have your own copy of the excel document you need to begin producing the graphs and charts to present your results.Try to use different forms of graphs and charts to present each question.Create these as new sheets on your excel document as in the example you saw in the lesson
Stage 3You will have realised by now that presenting the results of closed questions in graph or chart form is simple but presenting the results of open questions is not so easy. The best way to present these results is to look at all the answers and find two or three common answers or themes in the answers. For example, if the question was ‘Why do you like comedy shows?’ and there were 4 answers which said something about the humour, 5 that said something about comedy shows being easy to watch and not too complicated you would be able to conclude that two common answers were; Humour and Easy to Watch – you could then use the same method as closed questions to present your results. If you don’t have enough common answers then you need to present your results as a table with each answer written in a different row.
Stage 4Now you need to think about analysing your results. Are there any conclusions you can make based on your results?Write a paragraph which explains; your results and the conclusions you can make about your target audience and the effect this will have on the production of the show ‘Halls’.
