OVER VIEW OF THE SCHOOL
 The school started in 1966
 Built in a semi rural area with 1324 learners from
grade R to 7 using only 20 classrooms with 35
educators(ratio:66 per class)
 Three phases: Foundation, Intermediate and senior
doing various learning areas, projects and activities
to augment their learning
 Celebrating 50 years anniversary this year
BRANDING: EXCELLENCE AND INNOVATION
 Farming: Through skills acquired from FTFA we
started Greening projects to supply the community,
instil farming skills to learners, fight poverty. Main
aim :To re assure community that they can produce
their own food without relying on hand-outs from
municipality: Not to beg for food
PULA MADIBOGO FARMING PRIMARY SCHOOL
IKS ON MEDICINAL HERB MAKING
 Through skills acquired from FTFA and UNILIM
Learners learnt how to use green herbs to make
ointment: Harvesting, mixing, coocking,packaging
and labelling and sell to augment school funds, gain
knowledge and career choice
PULA MADIBOGO MEDICINE PRIMARY SCHOOL
TEACHING WITH TECHNOLOGY
 Through the skills from the then MASTEC
,Microsoft ,School Net and COZA CARES I
encouraged educators to redefine primary school
teaching and learning approaches by using
technology.
PULA MADIBOGO TECHNOLOGY PRIMARY SCHOOL
VARIOUS LEVELS OF INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION
Production through steam, fuel and electricity, electronics and cyber
CHALLENGES
 Limited physical resources; Classrooms, admin blok etc
 Inaccessibility of school information by parents and
learners
 Lack of support from Department of education with
regard to E learning
 Lack of interest of learners in voluntary reading
 Learners inability to spell words correctly
 Absent seem and drop outs
 Lack of love towards education by learners
 Educators who do not want to do things differently:
very rigid to the traditional way of teaching and learning
OBJECTIVES
 Vision of school ” Make very child a star”
 To groom global leaders through reading project
 To expose learners to global world through technology
 To augment learners skills and learning through
technology tools and collaborate with their peers
globally
 To encourage parents to support their school
 To encourage educators to transform teaching and
learning through technology tools
 To encourage innovative and creative minds in learners
that will lead to independent learning
 To equip learners with survival skills that will be of
benefit to secure their future careers
 To partner with NGO’s for skill acquirement
EVOLUTION OF TEACHING AND LEARNING
DIGITAL TEACHING AND LEARNING
 We are in a digital era teaching digital generation
 The question is are educators ready to transform
teaching and learning using technology tools?
 Survey: How many of you are in the following social
media?
 Whats app
 Email adress
 Facebook
 Twitter
 You Tube
 Sway.com
 One Note
Some of the Microsoft free resources to be used in class to simplify

SOUND LIKE A JOKE BUT ITS TRUE
HOW I USED TECHNOLOGY TOOLS TO LEVERAGE
INNOVATION FOR A COMPREHENSIVE LEARNING
APPROACH .
ICT WORKSHOPS
 Limpopo is the only province that is not
coordinating E learning. Reasons???
 Group of schools who engaged NGO”s to be
trained in technology gadgets to acquire and learn
how applications can be used in class to leverage
innovation in teaching and learning.
 Coza cares
 SchoolNet
 Microsoft
 Transferred skills to educators and learners to
make teaching and learning more vibrant and
lively,fun.
TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS CREATED
 Reading on Skype to instil the love of reading
 Collaboration of knowledge on Skype
 School website accessibility of info by public and
parents
 Blog expose, share good practices
 On line studies for self empowerment
 Sway to archive educators and learners projects
 White space board for spelling –fun in learning
 Red Critter to control attendance, award virtual
badges and accolades

TANGIBLE DIFFERENCE MADE IN LEARNERS EDUCATION
 Learners can use technology tools to research for their assignments
and project
 No more relying on teachers knowledge only
 Once a month they read on Skype to people outside and they love it
 Got used to different languages and tone on skype
 Learners confidence very high
 Once a week the elder once teach the younger once in media Lab.
Groomed leaders.
 Educators augment their teaching and learning approach by using
technology tools
 Communication with parents is done through apps:Whatts app and
school face book, is faster,cheaper
 Analysis of results is done through white space boards and over head
projector
 Migration of learners form rural schools to town has been drastically
decreased due to the type of teaching and learning we offer at our
school
 The school is now a school of choice
REPLICABLE/SCALABLE
 We are a mentoring school in many projects:
Greening, IKS in medicine and Technology
 Workshops
 Seminars
 Blog access
 Social media: face book, school websites
 Webinars: I often present on webinars
 Word of mouth
LESSON LEARNT
 Learners results can be improved through
technology tools: reading, spelling, confidence etc
 Technology project created young leaders/teacher
 Learners learn through creating knowledge not by
absorbing it
 Learners learnt that they are not alone in the globe(
using skype)
 Long distance can be shortened by using skype.
 Parents way of communication with school has
improved( use whats app or school face book)
 Educators way of teaching has also improved
because of the skills they acquired from technology
tools.
