This presentation is about how can Internet be applied on the human body. Biohackers implant devices on their bodies to send data. This could be an advantage for healthcare matters.
The Human Body in the IoT. Tim Cannon + Ryan O'SheaFuture Insights
Making the most of our data and the human body in the internet of things. The document discusses biohacking and implantable devices that can send biometric data wirelessly from the body to a phone. It also discusses the history of citizen science and how innovations in accessibility can empower citizens. The future possibilities discussed include active and passive control of digital systems using feedback from the peripheral and central nervous systems.
This document discusses how the Internet of Things (IoT) can provide "perfect information" by connecting everything to the internet and collecting data from sensors. It explains that IoT involves digitizing the physical world, uncovering unused "dark data", connecting more devices with sensors, and using the data collected to create useful insights. The document outlines how businesses can find relevant data sources, collect data from endless sensors and communication methods, transform that data into actionable information using analytics platforms, and present the information through dashboards, heads-up displays, and smart advisors to empower decision making. The goal is to leverage IoT to know anything, anytime, anywhere and make fully informed choices.

An introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT)7thingsmedia
As presented at the IAB UK London's offices on 23rd April 2015. 7thingsmedia Founder & CEO, Chris Bishop, gave a detailed introduction to the ‘Internet of Things’ and then looked forward to examine what is around the corner.
The presentation looks at who the early leaders are, what it is now and where it will go. It examines when it will truly enter the mainstream market and what effect it will have on home life, the city, our industries and the environment.
The vast network of devices connected to the Internet, including smart phones and tablets and almost anything with a sensor on it – cars, machines in production plants, jet engines, oil drills, wearable devices, and more. These “things” collect and exchange data.
The IoT allows objects to be sensed or controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit in addition to reduced human intervention.
The document discusses how to design internet of things (IoT) technologies for mainstream users beyond early adopters and "alpha geeks". It explores examples like Ninjablocks and Twine that offer sensor kits, but notes a gap between these makers and average users who don't want to hack devices. The document suggests IoT design needs to focus on providing useful, easy to understand information about oneself, others, and one's surroundings to gain widespread adoption.
DIY Science using the Intel IoT Developer KitIntel® Software
This document discusses how DIY science and citizen science are being enabled and advanced through new technologies like the Internet of Things. It provides examples of sensor projects that can be built using Intel IoT hardware kits, such as weather stations, light sensors, and devices for tracking light pollution. The document encourages participants to get involved with citizen science and claims that recent technologies will change the scientific process more in the next 20 years than the last 300 by allowing more participation and data sharing.
The document discusses how artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance the Internet of Things (IoT). It defines IoT as physical objects embedded with sensors and connectivity to exchange data. AI and IoT together create "The Intelligence of Things" by analyzing IoT data. This allows for predictive maintenance, smart homes/cities, and self-driving cars. The top industries for AI and IoT are healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation. Challenges include compatibility, complexity, privacy/security, and ensuring AI benefits humanity. Careers in this field include jobs at startups developing AI solutions for business problems across various industries.
This document discusses the concept of the "Internet of Things" and how connecting everyday objects to the internet through sensors and communication capabilities could help address issues like environmental monitoring and sustainability. Specifically, it proposes a system that uses small wireless sensors powered by trees to monitor forests for fires, with the data transmitted between sensors and to a command center. It advocates for an open Internet of Things to give people a direct role in measuring issues like air pollution and climate change in order to motivate solutions.
The document outlines a plan for presenting on the topic of the Internet of Things (IoT). It begins with defining IoT as the network of physical objects embedded with sensors that can collect and exchange data over existing network infrastructure. It then lists the following key points that will be covered in the presentation: how IoT works by leveraging technologies like RFID, sensors, and embedded processing; the current status and future prospects of IoT; how IoT can help turn data into wisdom through knowledge management; potential applications of IoT in various industries; technological challenges facing IoT development; and criticisms around privacy, security, and control issues with a ubiquitous IoT network.

DevOpsDays Atlanta 2025 - Building 10x Development Organizations.pptxJustin Reock
Building 10x Organizations with Modern Productivity Metrics
10x developers may be a myth, but 10x organizations are very real, as proven by the influential study performed in the 1980s, ‘The Coding War Games.’
Right now, here in early 2025, we seem to be experiencing YAPP (Yet Another Productivity Philosophy), and that philosophy is converging on developer experience. It seems that with every new method we invent for the delivery of products, whether physical or virtual, we reinvent productivity philosophies to go alongside them.
But which of these approaches actually work? DORA? SPACE? DevEx? What should we invest in and create urgency behind today, so that we don’t find ourselves having the same discussion again in a decade?

Is AI just another technology, or does it fundamentally change the way we live and think?
Every technology has a direct impact with micro-ethical consequences, some good, some bad. However more profound are the ways in which some technologies reshape the very fabric of society with macro-ethical impacts. The invention of the stirrup revolutionised mounted combat, but as a side effect gave rise to the feudal system, which still shapes politics today. The internal combustion engine offers personal freedom and creates pollution, but has also transformed the nature of urban planning and international trade. When we look at AI the micro-ethical issues, such as bias, are most obvious, but the macro-ethical challenges may be greater.
At a micro-ethical level AI has the potential to deepen social, ethnic and gender bias, issues I have warned about since the early 1990s! It is also being used increasingly on the battlefield. However, it also offers amazing opportunities in health and educations, as the recent Nobel prizes for the developers of AlphaFold illustrate. More radically, the need to encode ethics acts as a mirror to surface essential ethical problems and conflicts.
At the macro-ethical level, by the early 2000s digital technology had already begun to undermine sovereignty (e.g. gambling), market economics (through network effects and emergent monopolies), and the very meaning of money. Modern AI is the child of big data, big computation and ultimately big business, intensifying the inherent tendency of digital technology to concentrate power. AI is already unravelling the fundamentals of the social, political and economic world around us, but this is a world that needs radical reimagining to overcome the global environmental and human challenges that confront us. Our challenge is whether to let the threads fall as they may, or to use them to weave a better future.
