criteria, concept & characteristics of mentally health
person.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE –
• introduce about the mental health
• define mental health
• enlist the criteria of mental health
• explain the concept mental health
• discuss about the characteristics of mentally healthy
persons.

INTRODUCTION
The term mental health is often
misunderstood and interpreted as an
absence of mental, but mental health is
desirable quality and is more then the
absence of mental ill health. It is
concerned with an optimum level of
emotional and behavioral adjustment of
the individual .

Health is a state of complete physical
mental, spiritual and social well being,
and it is not merely the absence of any
diseases or infirmity.

Mental health is not absence of mental
illness but is a state of wellbeing in which
an individual realize his or her own
abilities can cope with the normal stress of

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and

also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others,
and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at
every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through
adulthood.
