The mysterious almost sly looking women hiding behind the wall looks like she could be a nun, this again implies the religious background to the story The woman looks dead. Her face is pale but her features are heavily outlined by black The child at the window is highlighted by the white light surrounding it. This again has a sense of religion. It has a sense of being possessed or being cleansed The tag says ‘The next true story’. This could draw people in as it isn’t all fiction and is based on a true story. This is more appealing to people The colour has been drained from the photo. It is very monochrome The tag of ‘from the director of The Conjuring and Insidious’ draws people in that have enjoyed those movies The billing block has the logo of Warner Bros. This could draw people in as it is a big company The toy chest and the sack next to it seem like they have some significance to the movie The wallpaper is peeling off the wall. This suggests that the room is worn or has been abandoned as there is also rubble or rubbish on the floor in the corner Having the cross to the side and then having the child right next to it and in centre of the frame draws your attention to it. It suggests that they have a connection as your eyes are drawn to them.

The tag line makes people question it. Who’s coming? When are they coming? Does it have anything to do with the group of people behind them? There are subtle hints to suggest they are vampires but people may not catch the hints so they are questioning who the group of people in the background As they are looking forward as if there are people coming towards them, there is a group of people walking towards them from behind. This raises the enigma of how will they escape as they seem surrounded The face in the corner of the poster looks savage and they seem to be enjoying the blood. They also look somewhat in pain As red has been drained from the poster, apart from the splattered blood in the middle could be another hint towards the theme of vampires as they drain blood. The title is another hint towards the movie as it is set in the Artic. This means that the vampires have 30 days without having to go into hiding. The skin colours have been drained from the people. The only warm colour left on the people is on the woman’s lips. In a way this sexualises the women The dark clouds could be an omen of bad things are about to happen/come. This is supported by the tagline. The man seems to be the most powerful out of them. Even though the woman has a gun, by the sheriff having the axe that means he will have to get closer to the vampires in order to do any damage The text of the title makes it look as though it has been written by someone running their finger through blood. Having the dot in the middle of the 0 makes it look like some sort of eye. It implies that there is a lot of watching going on in the movie which is true, as in the movies everyone seems to be watching each other
