InnoDB: a high-reliability and high-performance storage engine for MySQL designed for transaction processing. It follows the ACID model. Row-level locking and Oracle-style consistent reads increase multi-user concurrency and performance MyISAM: oldest storage engine has many features that have been developed over years.
