Codd. He is father of relation database.
In 1975 the first OLAP product – “Express” was
started & launched by information resources.
In 1962 “Kennath Iverson introduces
foundation of OLAP.

OLAP cubes have two main purposes.
1st
is provide business users with a data model
more intuitive to them than a tabular model.
2nd
is to enable fast query response that is
usually difficult to achieve using tabular
models.
