Self archiving
• Self archiving is the act of (the author’s) depositing a
free copy of an electronic document online in order to
provide open access to it.
• The term usually refers to self archiving of peer-
reviewed research articles and conference articles, as well
as book chapters, deposited in the author’s own
institutional repository or open archive for the purpose
of maximizing its accessibility, usage and citation impact.

• Open Access (OA) is scholarship that is online, free of

Creative Commons identity to their work.
• CCL: Can vary based on the specific identity
chosen. The identities range from allowing
almost any type of use as long as attribution

Programme
• The National Library and information Service Infrastructure for
Scholarly Content (N-LIST) is an initiation by the MHRD, launched on
4th
May 2010 and now being funded by UGC, as a college component
under e-ShodhSindu consortium.
• Since 2014 N-LIST project is included under UGC-INFONET Digital
Library Consortium as College Component.
• From 2014 onwards, the N-LIST programme was subsumed under e-
SudhSindu.

• The project “National Library and information Services Infrastructure
for Scholarly Content (N-LIST), is executed by merging the UGC-
INFONET Digital Library Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre and the
INDEST-AICTE Consortium, IIT Delhi.

N-LIST Programme
Eligible criteria for participation
• The Govt. /Govt. aided Colleges covered under the section 2F/12B of
UGC Act as well as Non-aided colleges have allowed to register
themselves with the N-LIST Programme.
• The Colleges (except Agriculture, Engineering, Management, Medical,
Pharmacy, Dentistry and Nursing) in India are eligible to get access e-
resources under N-LIST programme.
• Log-in ID and Password for accessing e-resources has been sent to the
authorized users from these colleges.
