Nesta palestra abordamos:
- opções para implementar alta disponibilidade no MySQL 5.7;
- topologias e arquiteturas de referência;
- boas práticas de gerenciamento.

MySQL High Availability Solutions - Feb 2015 webinarAndrew Morgan
How important is your data? Can you afford to lose it? What about just some of it? What would be the impact if you couldn’t access it for a minute, an hour, a day or a week?
Different applications can have very different requirements for High Availability. Some need 100% data reliability with 24x7x365 read & write access while many others are better served by a simpler approach with more modest HA ambitions.
MySQL has an array of High Availability solutions ranging from simple backups, through replication and shared storage clustering – all the way up to 99.999% available shared nothing, geographically replicated clusters. These solutions also have different ‘bonus’ features such as full InnoDB compatibility, in-memory real-time performance, linear scalability and SQL & NoSQL APIs.
The purpose of this presentation is to help you decide where your application sits in terms of HA requirements and discover which of the MySQL solutions best fit the bill. It will also cover what you need outside of the database to ensure High Availability – state of the art monitoring being a prime example.

Netherlands Tech Tour 05 - Strategic Operationalization of MySQLMark Swarbrick
This document discusses strategies for operationalizing MySQL database deployments. It begins with an overview of typical adoption models and how MySQL deployments often evolve from non-critical to mission-critical over time. The presentation then covers four operationalization principles - total cost of ownership, consistency of execution, scalability, and risk. It provides examples of how MySQL Enterprise tools can help with monitoring, security, backups, and support to achieve complete operationalization.
The document discusses edition-based redefinition (EBR) as a way to enable online application upgrades. EBR allows pre-upgrade and post-upgrade application backends to co-exist in the same database by isolating code changes in a new edition. Data changes are made safely by writing to new columns or tables invisible to the old edition. An editioning view exposes different projections of tables to each edition, and crossedition triggers propagate changes between editions to support hot rollovers during which both versions are used simultaneously. The document uses upgrading a phone number representation from a single column to separate country code and number columns as a case study for demonstrating EBR.

Oracle WebLogic Server 12.2.1 Do More with LessEd Burns
Oracle WebLogic Server 12.2.1 (WLS) is the most significant release of WLS since Oracle added WLS to its product portfolio with the acquisition of BEA in 2008. This session by WebLogic developer and JCP Specification Lead Ed Burns goes behind the buzzwords and explains the enterprise value-add brought by WLS 12.2.1 in plain English. Ed infuses his decades long experience in web technologies throughout the presentation, addressing such topics as why app servers are still useful, what role standards play in transitioning to the cloud, and what is the difference between "full stack" and "monolith".
See an interview about this topic at <https: />.
Ed introduces the new version of WLS by taking a tour of two big ticket new features: multitenancy and Java EE 7. Other features such as continuous availability, REST management, and Docker/devops features will also be included.
The multitenancy features in WebLogic Server offer extreme efficiency, full isolation, application portability, and full automation, all in an easy to adopt format.
Java EE 7 is the latest version of the Java standard full stack of loosely coupled, highly cohesive technologies for building enterprise software. EE 7 features new versions of popular standards such as JAX-RS (REST), CDI, Servlet, JSF, JSON, WebSocket, JMS, and more.
WLS 12.2.1 delivers these and other new features, while continuing the promise of stability and scale developers expect.

HCL Nomad Web – Best Practices and Managing Multiuser Environmentspanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-nomad-web-best-practices-and-managing-multiuser-environments/
HCL Nomad Web is heralded as the next generation of the HCL Notes client, offering numerous advantages such as eliminating the need for packaging, distribution, and installation. Nomad Web client upgrades will be installed “automatically” in the background. This significantly reduces the administrative footprint compared to traditional HCL Notes clients. However, troubleshooting issues in Nomad Web present unique challenges compared to the Notes client.
Join Christoph and Marc as they demonstrate how to simplify the troubleshooting process in HCL Nomad Web, ensuring a smoother and more efficient user experience.
In this webinar, we will explore effective strategies for diagnosing and resolving common problems in HCL Nomad Web, including
- Accessing the console
- Locating and interpreting log files
- Accessing the data folder within the browser’s cache (using OPFS)
- Understand the difference between single- and multi-user scenarios
- Utilizing Client Clocking
Artificial Intelligence is providing benefits in many areas of work within the heritage sector, from image analysis, to ideas generation, and new research tools. However, it is more critical than ever for people, with analogue intelligence, to ensure the integrity and ethical use of AI. Including real people can improve the use of AI by identifying potential biases, cross-checking results, refining workflows, and providing contextual relevance to AI-driven results.
News about the impact of AI often paints a rosy picture. In practice, there are many potential pitfalls. This presentation discusses these issues and looks at the role of analogue intelligence and analogue interfaces in providing the best results to our audiences. How do we deal with factually incorrect results? How do we get content generated that better reflects the diversity of our communities? What roles are there for physical, in-person experiences in the digital world?

Is AI just another technology, or does it fundamentally change the way we live and think?
Every technology has a direct impact with micro-ethical consequences, some good, some bad. However more profound are the ways in which some technologies reshape the very fabric of society with macro-ethical impacts. The invention of the stirrup revolutionised mounted combat, but as a side effect gave rise to the feudal system, which still shapes politics today. The internal combustion engine offers personal freedom and creates pollution, but has also transformed the nature of urban planning and international trade. When we look at AI the micro-ethical issues, such as bias, are most obvious, but the macro-ethical challenges may be greater.
At a micro-ethical level AI has the potential to deepen social, ethnic and gender bias, issues I have warned about since the early 1990s! It is also being used increasingly on the battlefield. However, it also offers amazing opportunities in health and educations, as the recent Nobel prizes for the developers of AlphaFold illustrate. More radically, the need to encode ethics acts as a mirror to surface essential ethical problems and conflicts.
At the macro-ethical level, by the early 2000s digital technology had already begun to undermine sovereignty (e.g. gambling), market economics (through network effects and emergent monopolies), and the very meaning of money. Modern AI is the child of big data, big computation and ultimately big business, intensifying the inherent tendency of digital technology to concentrate power. AI is already unravelling the fundamentals of the social, political and economic world around us, but this is a world that needs radical reimagining to overcome the global environmental and human challenges that confront us. Our challenge is whether to let the threads fall as they may, or to use them to weave a better future.
