A department represents a crew within your organization
A crew may include people, machines, or suppliers. Departments are also used to collect costs, apply overhead, and compare load to
capacity.

Enter the number of capacity Units (resource units)availablefor this department,
for example, the number of machines for a machine resource
Select the Planning tab.Optionally enter an Exception Set. The exception sets that
you assign help to identify capacity problems
- Choose Instances to add employees (including contingent workers)or equipment to
the current resource. An instanceis a specific employee name or piece of

5-Defining Department Approvers
you can set up the department approvers so that work request notifications are sent to each approver, using Oracle Workflow
Everyone who receives the notification can access the work request to change its status, or add additional information to the work request
log.
SetupDepartment Approval
Select Responsibility Owned by Asset Manager
By Responsibility we can Select Primary Approval Who, Selected Res. Assigned to Him
Defining Lookups
you must define Asset Lookups, Work Request Lookups, and Work Order Lookups.
Activity types are a type of lookup code.
Activity types are used to describe the type of maintenance work that is performed on an asset, for
example, Inspections, Lubrications, Overhauls, Calibration, and Repetitive work. Activity types are extensible
(not modified but added).
SetupLookup
Can add activity
Activity cause codes are the reasons for an asset failure. For example, preventive, normal wear, rework, and breakdown
Activity source codes are thereasons that activities are executed
Activity priority codes indicate asset activity priority levels, for example, Low, Medium, and High
Failure, cause, and resolution codes are organized into multiple tree structures called failure code sets, which are
then assigned to asset groups. Each set provides asset group-specific information on the possiblefailures of an asset group, the possible
causes of each failure, and the possibleresolutions for each cause. Assets within an asset group inherit the assigned failure code set.
Criticality codes suggest theimportance of an asset to an organization
Reconciliation codes enable you to evaluate work orders by percentage completed or delayed, and if they were delayed, the
reason for the delay. Reconciliation codes are extensible.
Work order types are created manually or automatically. For example, rebuildable work orders are
created automatically or manually. Preventive maintenance work orders are created automatically, based on
meter readings
Asset Setup
A-Category codes
Categorize assets by creating classes and subclasses for Easy search and Reporting
EAM Setup Category
B- Category Set
Category sets enable you to associate Category Codes (TRUCK.FRKLFT) with an asset group. You have to first define theitem category
relationship using theCategory Sets menu option.
C- Asset Group
Generally, an asset group is defined for each Manufacturer and Model Number
combination (Make, Model, and Year)
Examples include Acme Model 123 Pump and Ford F150 2002 Truck.
EAMAssetsAssetGroup
During implementation, Asset Group (Asset Group or Rebuildable Item) names should be established. Asset groups represent groups of assets that
are virtually identical. Generally, an asset group is defined for each manufacturer and model number combination (make, model, and year).
NOW we need to Assign Created Asset Group to EAM Organization (ML1)

Standard templateof jobs, which are applied to work orders such as routine or preventive maintenanceAfter these activity templates are
created, they are associated with one or more asset numbers or rebuildables. They are also associated to a maintenance BOM and activity
routing, containing the materials and resources needed for operations, respectively. When work orders are created for assets associated to
the activity, thematerial and resources associated with the current activity automatically copy to thework orders created.
There are three methods youcan use tocreate anactivity:

you might need to perform an activity on multipleasset numbers. To eliminate the
possibility of creatingmultiplework orders for the same activity, you can define asset
routes. You can define a PreventiveMaintenance schedule for your asset route to
specify when an activity should be scheduled for the asset route. You can define day
interval rules for asset routes.
Then Assign Asset Route to Specific Activity

Even if you are not using Project Manufacturing applications, Project Parameters are defined for your
eAM enabled organization to successfully create Asset Groups
This is required because an Asset
BOM is of type Model/Unit Effective and this BOM type is currently
allowed if PJM organization parameters are set up for the eAM enabled organization to which the Asset
Group has been assigned. Todefine Project Parameters, open the Project Parameters window using

1- Define Activity
There are three methods of defining an activity. You can create an activity within theMaster Item page, from theActivity Workbench, and
from within a maintenance work order
To Create ActivityRelatedtoSpecificAsset
********************************************************************************
Define Maintenance Routing
A maintenance route is the set of operations or jobs necessary to perform an activity. When a work order is created for an activity, the
maintenance routecorresponding to the activity explodes to the work order and all the operations specified in the maintenance routeare
copied to the work order as its operations
 Define Operations to Create Routing

Items that areinstalled, removed, and refurbished arereferred to as rebuildableitems.
Examples of rebuildableitems include motors, control boxes, and computer boards.
Rebuildableitems might need to be removed or refurbished while a parent asset is maintained.Rebuildable items are
inventory items;you havethe option to serialize them.
1- Make Sure to Select Master Org to define on it Rebulidables
Change Organization  Select MST
To associate rebuildable items to multiple organizations:
1. From the Rebuild Items window, select Item Details from the Tools menu.
2. Select the Organization Assignment tab.
3. Enter additional organizations in the availabletable.
4. After savingyour work, you can associatethis RebuildableItem with an Activity
Or U Can use Master item to assign it to EAM Org
2- Create Rebulitable serial no.
Change Org to ML1 “EAM”Org
Create Asset No. and associateit to Parent Asset
Rebuildable Item and Activity Association:
After you have defined rebuildableitems and activities, you can associateactivities to
the rebuildableitems. For example, you may have a Rebuild Engine Activity, and an
Engine RebuildableItem
Steps Needed
• Defining RebuildableItems  Done
• Defining Activities as below example
• Rebuild Work Orders, Oracle Enterprise Asset Management User's Guide
• Defining MaintenanceRoutes
Create Maintanence Routing
Launch Workbunch and Relate Activity toRebulidableitem
Added Asset Group=Rebulidableitem , Rebuldable No. and Relate it to Specific Activity
Then Save
To Add Routing
Referenced related to standard operation with its Resources
If Uncheck it Can Modify resource usage and Count
• Setting up Maintenance Bills of Material
To Create Bill Of Material For Activity
Preventive Maintenance Setup
eAM can generate work orders automatically based on meter readings, runtimeand/or calendar days
Example:
Change your engine oil every 3,000 miles or six months, whichever comes first
Defining Meter Templates

Meter Template Related to asset Group as Below:
1-Enter Meter Name and Description
2-Type(Absolute, Change)
Change  ‫مابين‬ ‫الفرق‬ ‫بيحسب‬
‫والسابقه‬ ‫الحاليه‬ ‫القراءه‬
3- Scheduling check box
If you select the Used in Scheduling check box, themeter is used in Preventive
Maintenance Scheduling.
If there areany scheduling rules associated with this meter, you cannot clear this
check box. If this is a fluctuatingmeter, this check box is disabled. If theUsed in
Scheduling check box is selected, the Usage Rate(per day) and Number of Past
Reading fields are mandatory.
4- Enter a usage Rate (Per day)
To provide daily meter usage estimates, based on historical readings. It supplies thesystem
benchmarkdata that is used to set the occurrence of scheduled PMs. Rateper day is
referred to in the absenceof a sufficient value in the Number of Past Readings field
5- Number of Past Readings
This value designates how many readings prior the scheduler should go to for
calculatingthe usage rate.If thereis an insufficient number of readings (for
example four, instead of the required five), the system continues thecalculation
based on the usage Rate per day.
This field is mandatory ifyou have selected the Used in Scheduling check box.
Note: If you enter a value of 1, the system perpetually calculates at
the usage Rate per day
Then Relate this Meter Template to Specific Asset Group
Meter Definition
Create Meter and Assign it to Specific Asset No.
Setup Preventative Maintenance
1- Set name
You must ensure that a Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule for an activity and an asset number or asset group uniquely belong to a set name.
Make Sure to be Global
2- Defining a Preventive Maintenance Template

- Optionally enter a Lead Time in Days.
Lead timein a PreventiveMaintenance Schedule is different than lead time
associated with WorkOrder creation. The PreventiveMaintenanceprocess suggests
Work Orders to be created or scheduled, startingfrom thelast service day of the
Asset to the cutoff day you specified whilerunning the process. If a Lead Time In
Days is specified, the PreventiveMaintenanceprocess predicts work for those extra
days beyond the cutoff date. This provides the maintenancedepartment advanced
visibility for maintenanceworkthat is typically predicted in the next planning

Cost Management Integration Setup
eAM supports four perpetual costing methods: standard, average,FIFO, and LIFO
eAM classifies work done on maintenanceworkorders into cost categories. By default,
eAM has defined threecost categories: Contract,Operations, and Maintenance
You can define additional cost categories, if needed. Each cost category is further
classified intothree cost elements: Equipment, Labor, and Material.
• Material - Costs from material transactions.
• Labor - Costs from labor resourcetransactions.
• Equipment - Costs from equipment resource transactions.
eAM Mappings
The threecost elements (Material,Labor, and Equipment) are mapped to the five basic
cost elements (Material, Material Overhead, Resource, Resource Overhead, and Outside
Processing) provided by Cost Management
Setting Up Zero Cost Rebuild Item Issue
Oracle EnterpriseAsset Management work order costing supports both WIP
component issues and the return of rebuildables from and to expense subinventories at
their current or zero cost. You can issue rebuildablecomponents from theExpense
Subinventory tothemaintenanceworkorder at zero cost and/or return rebuildable
EAM Work Order Management
Oracle EnterpriseAsset Management work orders are created for assets and rebuild-ableinventory items. They are
defined manually,or generated automatically based on a scheduled activity
1- Routine Work Orders
Routine workorders arenormally created by a planner from the Maintenance
Workbench
2- Create Express Work Order
Also known as emergency work orders. You can create a new work order, charge time to it and complete it at the same time. If you need to capture
work that has already been completed, use express work orders
To Create Express or Routine Work Order

C
Create Rebulidable Work order
Rebuild work orders are created as child work orders.
For example, a work order was issued for the inspection of a pump. During the pump inspection, you found that one of thecomp onents of thepump
motor is problematic. You have two options:
 You can repair and then reinstall this motor rebuildable item. If you choose to repair and then reinstall theproblematic motor rebuildable
item, you can manually create the child rebuild work order for the old motor (rebuildable item). The rebuildable item is replaced back into
the asset (motor placed back into the pump, for example), and does not go to a subinventory when the work order is completed. In this case,
the asset number genealogy is not updated.
 You can replace the rebuildable item by issuing a new motor rebuildable item from inventory. If you choose to perform a material issue
from inventory, the old motor rebuildable item attaches to the work order, automatically creating the child, rebuild work order number
associated to theparent work order. In this case, the asset number genealogy would automatically updateto identify this new item number.
1- Make sure u assigned Rebulidable to parent asset at Rebulidable No.
2- Create Work Orderfor ParentAsset

Resources:
Resources are used to perform a task for a maintenance operation. A resource is an employee, piece of equipment, or contractor service used to
perform an operation. A resource and usage rate for all scheduled activities is required on a routing. You can view, update, add, or
delete resource requirements for a work order.
Contractor services are defined as work services provided by an organization or person who is not an employee of your company. Contractors are
paid for their work, based on an agreed upon contract or agreement. For example, within maintenance work environments, it is often important to
include landscaping services within a work order. It is also important to associate the purchasing transactions, such as the requisition and purchase
order to thework order. To execute this process, theappropriatesteps arecompleted in Oracle Purchasing and Oracle EnterpriseAsset Management.
You can Add or Remove Resources for each Work Order as needed
Work Order Relationships
The parent-child relationship enables a network of work orders, which includes one top-level work order that defines thetime line of all its children
work orders. Thestart and end dates of the child work orders are within the start and end dates of theparent work order. The parent work order dates
are scheduled, while its child work orders are automatically scheduled as well. A child work order can parent another work order. One parent can
have multiple children, but one child can have a single parent. You can define as many parent-child work order levels as you need.

There are two types of EnterpriseAsset Management work order transactions:
 Material: When you issue material from inventory to a work order.
 Resource: When you charge resources (labor or equipment) to a work order.
*************************************************************************
You might need to issue a rebuildable item or asset from inventory to a maintenance work order. For example, a work order was issued for
the inspection of a pump. During thepump inspection, you found that the motor, one of thecomponents of the pump, is problematic. You
can replace the rebuildable item by issuing a new motor rebuildable item from inventory. If you perform a material issue from inventory,
the old motor rebuildable item attaches to the work order, automatically creating thechild (rebuild) work order number associated to the
parent work order. In this case, the asset number genealogy automatically updates to identify this new item number.
Material issues to work orders and returns to inventory are typicalstoreroom functions. The Stores tab (in theMaintenance Super User
responsibility) provides theMaterial Issue Request and Verification functionality, and is used to manage a work order's material
availability. A work order's material requirements are defined on its maintenance BOM, and are available to the work order by executing
the material issue request and verification process.
****************************************************************

Close & unclose WorkOrder
You can close a maintenance work order at any status within its lifecycle. You can close one or many work orders at once. After a work order or a
period is closed, cost variances are posted to theasset's WIP accounting class code accounts, if the work order is associated with an asset route.
Variances are posted to theWIP account for every asset within the asset route when thework order is released. Theseaccounts are charged, even if
several assets on the asset route move between organizations before thework order is closed.

Contractor services are defined as work services provided by an organization or person who is not an employee of your company
Contractors are paid for their work based on an agreed upon contract or agreement
For example, a contractor service may be a painting service. It is also important to associate the purchasing transactions, such as therequisition and
purchase order, to the work order. In order for this to be executed, the appropriatestepsmust becompleted in Purchasing and EnterpriseAsset
Management.
Outside service processing:providesthe functionalityto create items that are contractorservices, such as landscaping
Include these items (landscaping) ona work order, and execute the related purchasing transactions as the work order is released. Bycreating a
contract service as an Outside Service Processing item, the purchasing requisition is createdwhen the work order is released. The additional
purchasingtransaction, includingthe creationof the purchase order, the approval and invoicing process are then managed by Purchasing.
A contractor service item must be linked to a resource for thepurchase order to be tied to the work order. This is associated via the Resources
window. Additionally, the resource must be associated with a department. The department must specify the location where theservices are to be
delivered. This must be a valid location for theorganization
1- Create an item for each outside service, such as landscaping services.

SetupDepartment Approval Select Responsibility Owned by Asset Manager
  • 9. By Responsibility we can Select Primary Approval Who, Selected Res. Assigned to Him Defining Lookups you must define Asset Lookups, Work Request Lookups, and Work Order Lookups. Activity types are a type of lookup code. Activity types are used to describe the type of maintenance work that is performed on an asset, for example, Inspections, Lubrications, Overhauls, Calibration, and Repetitive work. Activity types are extensible (not modified but added). SetupLookup
  • 10. Can add activity Activity cause codes are the reasons for an asset failure. For example, preventive, normal wear, rework, and breakdown Activity source codes are thereasons that activities are executed Activity priority codes indicate asset activity priority levels, for example, Low, Medium, and High
  • 11. Failure, cause, and resolution codes are organized into multiple tree structures called failure code sets, which are then assigned to asset groups. Each set provides asset group-specific information on the possiblefailures of an asset group, the possible causes of each failure, and the possibleresolutions for each cause. Assets within an asset group inherit the assigned failure code set. Criticality codes suggest theimportance of an asset to an organization Reconciliation codes enable you to evaluate work orders by percentage completed or delayed, and if they were delayed, the reason for the delay. Reconciliation codes are extensible.
  • 12. Work order types are created manually or automatically. For example, rebuildable work orders are created automatically or manually. Preventive maintenance work orders are created automatically, based on meter readings Asset Setup A-Category codes Categorize assets by creating classes and subclasses for Easy search and Reporting EAM Setup Category B- Category Set Category sets enable you to associate Category Codes (TRUCK.FRKLFT) with an asset group. You have to first define theitem category relationship using theCategory Sets menu option.
  • 13. C- Asset Group Generally, an asset group is defined for each Manufacturer and Model Number combination (Make, Model, and Year) Examples include Acme Model 123 Pump and Ford F150 2002 Truck. EAMAssetsAssetGroup During implementation, Asset Group (Asset Group or Rebuildable Item) names should be established. Asset groups represent groups of assets that are virtually identical. Generally, an asset group is defined for each manufacturer and model number combination (make, model, and year).

  • 54. EAM Work Order Management Oracle EnterpriseAsset Management work orders are created for assets and rebuild-ableinventory items. They are defined manually,or generated automatically based on a scheduled activity 1- Routine Work Orders Routine workorders arenormally created by a planner from the Maintenance Workbench 2- Create Express Work Order Also known as emergency work orders. You can create a new work order, charge time to it and complete it at the same time. If you need to capture work that has already been completed, use express work orders

Material is physically availabletoa work order via the material request and verification process - Material Shortage region enables you to view material availability. This region populates, after you havesaved the workorder Easy Create For Work Order From Add Responsibility Maintenance Super User Organization Access for Org ML1
  • 56. Same As Normal Create Work order , it More Easy C Create Rebulidable Work order Rebuild work orders are created as child work orders. For example, a work order was issued for the inspection of a pump. During the pump inspection, you found that one of thecomp onents of thepump motor is problematic. You have two options:  You can repair and then reinstall this motor rebuildable item. If you choose to repair and then reinstall theproblematic motor rebuildable item, you can manually create the child rebuild work order for the old motor (rebuildable item). The rebuildable item is replaced back into the asset (motor placed back into the pump, for example), and does not go to a subinventory when the work order is completed. In this case, the asset number genealogy is not updated.  You can replace the rebuildable item by issuing a new motor rebuildable item from inventory. If you choose to perform a material issue from inventory, the old motor rebuildable item attaches to the work order, automatically creating the child, rebuild work order number associated to theparent work order. In this case, the asset number genealogy would automatically updateto identify this new item number.

A resource is an employee, piece of equipment, or contractor service used to perform an operation. A resource and usage rate for all scheduled activities is required on a routing. You can view, update, add, or delete resource requirements for a work order. Contractor services are defined as work services provided by an organization or person who is not an employee of your company. Contractors are paid for their work, based on an agreed upon contract or agreement. For example, within maintenance work environments, it is often important to include landscaping services within a work order. It is also important to associate the purchasing transactions, such as the requisition and purchase order to thework order. To execute this process, theappropriatesteps arecompleted in Oracle Purchasing and Oracle EnterpriseAsset Management. You can Add or Remove Resources for each Work Order as needed
  • 63. Work Order Relationships The parent-child relationship enables a network of work orders, which includes one top-level work order that defines thetime line of all its children work orders. Thestart and end dates of the child work orders are within the start and end dates of theparent work order. The parent work order dates are scheduled, while its child work orders are automatically scheduled as well. A child work order can parent another work order. One parent can have multiple children, but one child can have a single parent. Actions on Work Order Material Issue Manual for Work Order There are two types of EnterpriseAsset Management work order transactions:  Material: When you issue material from inventory to a work order.  Resource: When you charge resources (labor or equipment) to a work order. ************************************************************************* You might need to issue a rebuildable item or asset from inventory to a maintenance work order. For example, a work order was issued for the inspection of a pump. During thepump inspection, you found that the motor, one of thecomponents of the pump, is problematic. You can replace the rebuildable item by issuing a new motor rebuildable item from inventory. In this case, the asset number genealogy automatically updates to identify this new item number. Material issues to work orders and returns to inventory are typicalstoreroom functions. The Stores tab (in theMaintenance Super User responsibility) provides theMaterial Issue Request and Verification functionality, and is used to manage a work order's material availability.
