ORCID's strategy over the next 3 years centers on making the ORCID record more rich and secure, focusing on the funding community in 2018. Their core strategies are positioning researchers, investing in infrastructure, enabling identity connections, and developing sustainability through relationships. In 2018, the goals are allowing researchers to share more affiliation, funding, and resource information and demonstrating the benefits of implementing ORCID. New features will expand affiliation categories and allow sharing of funding and research resources. ORCID also aims to serve as a hub for asserting and reusing identity information through clarified policies.
