Our moon
The Moon is the Earth´s only satellite
It´s surface has craters caused by the impact of lots of meteorites
The Moon is smaller than the Earth
Rotation-the Moon revolves on its own axis, which takes 28 days
Revolution- the Moon orbits
the Earth, which also takes 28
days
Since both movements take the same amount of time, we always see the same side of the Moon
1. New Moon
2. First quarter
3. Full Moon
4. Last quarter
We cannot see the Moon
 Its hidden side is the one illuminated by the Sun
We see the right side of the Moon illuminated
It is shaped like a D
We see the whole Moon illuminated by the Sun
We see the left side of the Moon illuminated
It is shaped like a C
Tides are periodic movements of the level of the seas due to the mass of the moon and to the attraction that the Moon and the sun have on the Earth
The water level rises on the part of the Earth closest to the Moon and also on the opposite side. This is called high tide
On the parts of the Earth not exposed to the Moon, the water level goes down and we have low tide
An eclipse happens when a celestial body hides another celestial body temporarily, either partially or completely
