- 3. Synopsis Film title: Just 15 Settings and locations: The settings and location that we have chosen to use in our short film are at Stockley Academy in the playground. We have chosen to use the wall near the sports fields, as it is quite a distance from the school which helps when shooting the film. It is also a well-known location for the schools current rebellious students. Actors and Characters: Molly – Jodie Neighbour Cameron – Brandon Coomes Tom – Sam Casse Ellie – Georgina Crooks Harry – Lucy – Sian Madigan We have decided to use these characters to represent modern day British life such as schooling and home life. We decided to use Jodie Neighbour and Brandon Coomes as our main characters as they are currently studying A2 Drama. Plot Summary: A teenage girl, labelled a goody two shoes by her friends succumbs to peer pressure and takes part in the young culture of drinking and smoking however there is a deeper problem that poor Molly faces.

Synopsis Themes Addressed: Underage pregnancy School pressure and stress Age of consent Underage drinking (binge drinking) Underage smoking Illegal substance abuse Original quality: The original quality of our film is shown as we use a dominant theme of the social issues such as underage drinking and smoking to cloud our main theme of teenage pregnancy. This highlights the debate of ‘what is worse, underage smoking and drinking or teenage pregnancy?’ We decided to have teenage pregnancy as the hidden message throughout our short film as we wanted to represent the mind of our main character and how she feels trapped and torn between her own personal life, her social life, her education, her peers and her future. Intended audience: We are aiming our film at young people, typically those at secondary school. However parents may find our short film educational and interesting as it shows the ‘fourth wall’ view of a group of friends having a conversation at lunch time. Research: Teenage pregnancy in Britain is still a huge issue, even though it has reached its lowest since 1969. Britain is known as Europe’s problem nation.
- 5. Character profiles Molly Cameron Molly is a 15 year old girl who attends secondary school, she is in year 11 (her final year). We meet the character Molly at a difficult time in her life, she has always been the innocent good girl in her group of friends but recent events have changed things. It is revealed at the end of our film that Molly is pregnant and considers an abortion, although we do not reveal who the father of the child is there are hints throughout the film that it could possibly be Cameron. Molly has short brown hair, hazel eyes and pale skin. She is a dancer in her spare time and does not enjoy socially drinking with her friends; she has recently succumbed to peer pressure and went out drinking a couple of weeks before the film was set. Molly is an inelegant girl, the most capable of her friends and does not see what they enjoy about alcohol and drugs. Molly’s best friend is Lucy. Ellie and Molly have previously been close but she does not consider them as close anymore as Ellie is going out with Cameron. Molly and Cameron have a suspected love affair. Molly socialises with Tom and Harry because Lucy does, she does not have a strong friendship with them. Cameron is a 16 year old boy in the same school and same year group as Molly. Cameron plays football in his spare time and is not committed to his school life or education. Cameron does not know that Molly is pregnant but it is suspected that he is the baby’s father. Cameron is a tall with brown hair, he enjoys going out with his friends and spending time with his girlfriend Ellie. Tom says “We don’t want Cam’s lovers fighting over him” meaning Ellie and Molly showing that there is something going on between Molly and Cameron. Cameron’s best friends are Tom and Harry. Cameron is in a relationship with Ellie; although there is a suspected love affair between Molly and Cameron. Lucy and Cameron are close friends.
