 Tremec is in manufacturing of 5, 6 and 7speed manual transmissions for Commercial vehicles, as well
as passenger cars and SUVs.
 Holding position of Assistant Manager – Purchase (Direct)
 Commodities Handling – Casting (SG CI), Forging, Investment Casting, Aluminum Casting (PDC), Gears,
Sintered components, Synchronizer Components etc.
 Reporting to H.O.D. – Purchase.
Responsibilities and achievements:
 Developed & localized, 5 speed Manual transmissions in India.
 Coordinating with best cost Supplier Base for the commodities like Casting, Forging, Aluminum
Casting, Investment Casting, Synchronizer Components, Etc.
 Defining strategies for localization of Transmission Components, and incorporating the same in
different phases.
 Establishing and evaluating reliable, quality conscious and cost effective supplier base.
 Negotiating with suppliers For Best cost, and to maintain a very fair business relationship between
Organization and Supplier.
 Planning for development of components, in line with project timeline.
 APQP Monitoring and execution with Suppliers.
 To ensure that suppliers and components to be developed are as per the norms and requirements of
the Organization.
 To ensure Production readiness at supplier end before SOP of the Project.
 To define “Make or Buy” strategy, by working with in-house manufacturing Team.
